@ DUCKSAUCE

I'm a huge fan of all those groups you mentioned....along with Planet Asia, Mos Def, Lifesavas, Goodie Mob (Soul Food), and all music that feeds intellent instead of ignorance. Some of this gangsta rap does nothing but dummy people into retard mode because listeners can't always discern what is real and what is make believe. After a certain number of hoez, bitches, sluts, cumshots, pussy holes, sherm sticks and mothafuckaz, I become disinterested. It's time for people to talk about something real or at least diversify their subject matter to include something besides bitches, hoez and hittin lix.

Im feelin Livio's shit, and i was bumpin some Oldominion earlier...im feelin that too.

I like that shit like... "Anytime i sit-in-the-benz...i could shit-on-ya-friends...you got the glasses but you missin-the-lens" type stuff...

once you go into Cat/Hat TIght/High Weed/Greed single-word mode, people start wantin to tell whole stories about their personal struggles and how hard their life is....and it gets REDICULOUS for me...i listen to rap to be ENTERTAINED< not to wanna go hunt down some snitches and pop a cap in they azz!

jus like Sergeant Hustle (forgive me for sayin ur name! :( ), I look for sustenance, and some flavor....uplifting women aint bad either, like "Common - the light"... "I'd never call you my bitch, or even my boo/There's so much in a name, and so much more in you" ....that shit was TIIGHT!

thats what im feelin the most... NEXT!

i've been feelin J Live a lot lately. Also Binary Star, pep love of heiroglyphics, typical cats, grand agent, talib, blackalicious, mountain brothers, pacifics, zion 1, and the list go on and on.

i enjoy the local scene but the sound gets kinda played with the heavy west coast influence. Few heads pull it off right. I didn't seriously get into hip hop till like the mid 90's when the east was really rulin shit maybe i was influenced a little too hard haha.

nothing lately has really excited me in the hip hop world lately. Besides my cousin's production skills. www.stationmp3.com/illmind <---- he's the next hi tek. NO LIE! I've only been bumpin this Cam'Ron, J Live, and maybe this Eminem CD i just copped today well get my spirits up again. Also i've been bumpin this Britney shit getting geared up the concert. I'm gonna go backstage and kidnap her. HAHAHAHA LOL!

cheers.

@ Ducksauce:
Then you need to peep the Mac Money single. Click this link:
Mac Money tracks
Just Dippin has that bouncy West Coast sound. It's a little gangsta but it uses no curse words and doesn't talk about banging or killing.
What's Yo Reality This is some straight science and questions you to check your beliefs
United We Stand Is a track where Mac tells all the gangstas, "If you so gangsta, then let's come together and rid this terrorrism by our own government to minorities here in the U.S." Some deep shit.
And check out these tracks from Mr. D.O.G.
4 Da Homies
Playa Playa
(Neither are what you described as gangsta tracks)

Music is music, yet, it reflects your personality....i aint gonna get into psychology, but hiphop is food for thought, and you should keep your diet balanced....
