don't call me "foo" u cornball lol. Oakland may be a city with gangs in it, but compared to other cities in California, it is not a "gang city." One major Latino gang (Nortes). Maybe two if you count the 13s (I don't know how deep they are). This Border Brother shit I had heard of before, but i didn't even know they were deep enough to be considered a gang. If there are more gangs that claim colors in this city please feel free to educate me....I've never heard of them. The fact of the matter is, how can Oakland be a gang city with only three gangs competing for turf? That hails in comparison to damn near every other gang city on this coast. LMAO @ Oakland flagging. Naw dawg Oakland ain't flagging, a select few in Oakland are flagging. LA is flagging, Sac is flagging, Daygo is flagging. The Nortes in Oakland are home grown and have a lot of history here, so I'll give you that, but the 13s ain't from here, they are out of towners, I don't know about you, but I wouldn't classify them as an "Oakland gang." I don't know enough about the BBz to speak on them, but just because gang banging happens in Oakland, doesn't make Oakland a gang banging city. The majority of the crimes and murders that happen in Oakland come from people who don't bang colors....

77% of the homicides in Oakland are black on black, 15% are Hispanic, the rest of the murders are equally distributed throughout the other races. In no way am I disrespecting the Mexicans that are getting down in Oakland, I'm saying that the majority of crime and murders in The Town, come from people who are not claiming a color. If I were to look up that shit about Sacramento, or Stockton, or LA, you would see the exact opposite. Those are "gang cities." Oakland is not. That 's not saying gang banging doesn't happen here, it's saying that it isn't on a large enough scale to classify the whole city as a "gang city."

Okay, this is because the majority of Oakland is black so its simple mathematics. And the reason you dont know about BBz is cause you black and that part of the game has no concern for you. Every young latino in Oakland is gonna know all about enes, scraps, bb'z, unt'z .. I have close friends that are wrapped up in that Norte shit. I just found out recently that a friend of mine that used to live next door to ma gramama on 50th n Ygnacio got shot up, his family is wrapped up in that Norte shit. It's not irrelevant to me just because ima brotha. I'm not speaking from the perspective of a black man, I'm speaking from the perspective of somebody that understands the difference between a "gang city" and a city with gangs in it.

Coming from a total outsider looking in it seems that shows like these and the cops look at any group, crew, click, etc as a gang. If you are kicking it with a few of your homies and live off a certain street or in housing projects and call yourself _____ boys or whatever you want to, then to them you are classified as a gang. Even if you aren't doing the whole gang bang and flagging' thing to them you are a gang regardless.

That's like before all the Bs/Cs that popped up in NYC in the last few years people would tell you that NYC didn't have a gang problem. But the cops out there always considered clicks and crews as gangs even though they didn't bang colors minus Latin Kings and a few others.

Like I said as a outsider I'm not going to speak on anything that goes on around there, I'll leave that to you guys, but that's just what I've noticed.

Thats some real shit, I hate the way they depicted Oakland. They make it seem like Oakland has gang banga's and its a city like LA. When its not, even the gangs that they showed was going to side shows and thats where 1 of them got merked.

In my personal opinion all of them cats was bumpin they gums to much all on camera. And thats the main reason why cats get merked out here in the first place is because they talkin to much shit.
