Just wanna hear what everyone thinks is/was the best form of music. These were by far the most popular forms of music on the West Coast back in the 90's. Mob Music has lasted a little longer but G-Funk isn't officially dead neither & it sold a lot more as well.

I loved both but it was something a lil bit more unique with Mob Music that has kept me attracted to it till this very day.

Mob is still in my heart, but I've always loved the G-Funk. I really can't pick a side... They're both my favorite styles/forms of rap. Shit's classic and timeless. The West just makes unforgettable, quality music. I think I felt more of a connection to Mob, since that was the type of music made out here in my home base and there was nothing really like it, but G-Funk is hella chilled out and still knocked. I just Can't pick a side on this one.

G-Funk seems more versatile to me, u can cover DEEPER subjects over G-Funk beats, Check Warren G's Regulator CD, or some of Nate Dogg's songs. Chicano Rappers also SHINE over G-Funk beats, not to say they couldn't do the same over mob, but traditionally it hasn't been evident.

MOB music is just what it implys I MOB to that shit...LOL...put it in the car or when I'm on the RTD...and MOB OUT. GOOD for a car stereo, headphones etc. when I am MOBBING through the town or 'in motion'.....

G-Funk is good for HOUSE speakers, play it while I'm eating breakfast, gettin creased up, or layin pipe.

My question is How Do YOU personally distinguish the two??

By instruments or sound?
By subject matter
or By region i.e NOrthern vs. SOuthern CAL?

I voted G-Funk but honestly I bang more bay music now days.... then Southern Cali.

Southern Cali: Warren G, Coolio, Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg, Snoop Dogg.. anything from Deathrow before 2Pac died after that they fell off.

Bay Music: E-40, B-Legit, Celly Cell, Spice 1, Too $hort.... anything from Sick-Wit-It in my opinion Too $hort and E-40 are the bay and without them I don't think we would be where we are at over 20 year in bay music.
