I dont know how many of you check out the Gathering Of The Minds forum....but theres been a few lengthy conversations about "police going to far"....as this is nothing new to everyone(Rodney King ring a bell?)....i have a question to anyone and everyone...

DO you still feel the same hatred for cops that actually ABIDE by the law and follow the "police code"?

The reason most of us hate cops is becuase weve been through some sort of ordeal where we feel like we were harrassed or atracted thier attention for no good reason...

But stop and think for a minute....did you really deserve the unwanted attention?

If you commit crimes....guess what knuckle heads...you deserved to get fucked with...the police have a job...."protect & serve"....if they see someone breakin the law....they are just doin thier job,right?

Ive been on the wrong side of the law for a good portion of my life...theres been times where i got harrassed for no good reason...and times when i think about it NOW...they were just doin thier jobs...

We all know there are crooked cops in every city of every state...but there are also cops that do thier job the way its supposed to be done...

To everyone that reads this....im no goin for or against the police....i hate crooked cops just as much as the next man...but i cant hate a man for workin hard and gettin his money...remember...some people have different beliefs than you...and not everyone wants to live in a world run by crime...

Individually, it’s quite possible there are good cops out there. But, the police as a whole are oppressive and full of corruption. Always have been and always will be. Because of this, I can NEVER respect the police.

The entire system we live in is oppressive- the police, the army, the judicial system, the courts, the prisons, etc. It is an oppressive apparatus and the police are a part of it.

The entire purpose of the police is to protect the properties of the upper-class. That is why they are the ones who are called in to crush peaceful gatherings, protests or strikes; they are the ones that harass the lower class citizens and people of color (YES, it’s a FACT that racial profiling still occurs to this day); they are the ones that enforce the unfair class laws. The police are not protecting the interests of the working class; they are enforcing the interests of the upper-class. And this is true for every capitalist country in the world without exception.

A rich man who embezzles millions of dollars is less likely to go to jail than a poor man who robs a 7/11 for one hundred dollars. Over 2 million are locked up in prison, over 60% black and well over half are in debt, and over 6 million are in the prison system total (house arrest, parole, etc.). Should I thank the police for locking up drug addicts? Should I thank them for locking up prostitutes, homeless and the hungry?

Also, I think it’s ridiculous to say that most people are harassed by police because of the way they live. Tell that to the pregnant lady who was thrown down to the ground by a police officer because she was eating a snickers bar in a place that food was prohibited. Tell that to the thousands of black males (or people of any color) who were pulled over because of the color of their skin.

me and my friends got the shit beat out of us by police when we were leaving one of their daughters house. the only crime we committed was talking to his white daughter.

i'm sure they have good cops but most of the cops abuse their power. there's a huge difference between doing their job and harassing for no fucking reason.

Shea, I don't know if you're telling the whole story but I'm not doubting you either, I was wondering why you didn't press charges and take dude to court? You have the physical evidence and a witness. Better to try than not to try.

you should heard the shit that my friend tells me about the police in county. when fools talk a lot of hsit, they get sent to a room, and get pounded by 4-5 cops.
