1) Fact: It is 2007 and no one pays for "programs".
2) Price means nothing.

both the demo and full version suck.

no offense but ALL producers with music in their sigs on the internet suck at making beats.

now that we have that covered, and now that weve mentioned frooty loops is gay...i'll say thats my opinion. Im more into buying different samplers, drum machines, and buying instruments and learning to play them and not bieng so dependent on the trend of using the same shit everyone else uses....maybe thats just me, im on some old school shit and id never go out the gay route, imma stay in the record stores buying russian folk music and nyabinghi drumming sessions and hawaii ukelalie music and chop up breaks live...frooty loops....haaahahahahaha

and i love touchpads! i didnt spend my life drumming on tables for nothing! 500 dollars could buy me a fucking saxaphone or something!

if one was even dumb enough to BUY a program..

fruity loops is aight as long as you dont use the presets, lotsa big names be gettin by fine on it.
i still use the sequencer rewired into sonar every once in awhile when i feel like gettin a different touch to my drums or chops.
you can make dope shit on anything as long as you're comfortable with it and know it well.

It the wrong forum but my answer is this they are all nothing but tools. Most software programs like fl and reason and shit are used best with other programs. FL has a bad rep cuz there are like 3 million wannabe beatmakers who DL this shit and think they are doing something. There are people that can make hits with FL. Same can be said about any peice of gear if you have vision and know what you are doing.

truth is most the ones who love fruity loops have it cause when they started making beats they couldn't afford anything else....and they all say it aint what ya got but what you put in it...i say put two scoops of sugar in a bucket of shit and you still got shit....they all mention 9th wonder.....His beats are O.K. but nothing worth mentioning or memorable.I would recomend fruity loops over reason..cause at least it supports vsts..unlike reason you stuck in the box. That being said while my 3000 was getting painted i bought a full version of fruity loops a week later it was in the trash.Majority of aspiring beatmakers fruity loops is perfect cause they are tone deaf and might not here differences. That being said whatever equipment you use doesn't make you a great beatmaker..I have a few friends they both have all the main keyboards with sequencers(triton/motifES/fantomx) they boith also have an ASR10 and sp1200.....when there mpc is being customized or down for any reason(wich is rare) then there whole beatmaking studio is down...each sequencer has there own characteristics..more so with the older equipment..like the mpc,sp1200,asr10...So many people have the misconception that the mpc is great cause of the pads...it is cool but Thats not its strength. But to each his own do what you do

out the box reason is better and the synths and samplers it comes with you don't really need VST support, besides all this stuff is used at the best of its ability through a sequencer like cubase sonar or pro tools. even without an external sequencer i've found ways to work around the programs limitations
