A 17-year old male who was shot a week ago in southwest Fresno died at Community Regional Medical Center over the weekend, Fresno police said Monday. Police are still searching for his killer.
The victim was identified as Joe Yang, who died late Friday night.
The shooting was reported July 30 at 6:05 p.m. near Teilman and Kearney avenues. Police found the victim with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He made it to the hospital, where his condition wavered between serious and critical until his death, police said.
Police determined that he was not a gang member. He was riding in a car with several other passengers, but no one else was hit. Police think the shot came from a passing car.
