If it didnt have the gum soles it would just be a black and white shoe, it would look fine, but it would blur into the crowd of other shoes. The gum sole sets it apart. It ads a touch of class to an otherwise bleak, ugly landscape of shoes.

on this particular pair, yes...i would agree that the gum sole adds a touch to the black/white

however, i think a clear sole would be perfect for this colorway, since there is blue on it...

In world where they take a normal basketball shoe, stretch it out, then throw half empy spray paint cans at it, charge $300 and watch assholes glad line up outside of a shiek for days, they finally didnt ruin one.
