Old people, the Baby Boomer generation, like 55-75 year olds. They came before Generation X.

The kids these days are basically calling anyone over 40 a "boomer" now as a meme and they've pretty much beat it into the ground.

Tell a young person they're lazy, or stupid, or anything, or say their new music sucks they respond with "ok boomer"

It started because Baby Boomers legit fucked the country's economy up, but they're the ones that are like "pull up your boot straps, I bought a house, a car, and paid for college out of my pocket" when they don't realize in their day it was possible. So Gen X, Gen Y (millenials), and Gen Z basically give them shit and tell them to shut up cause they're the ones that fucked up the economy.

But now retarded young people turned it into a lame ass meme where they say "ok boomer" to anybody that's even slightly older than them. For example:

I be like: "Takeshi 69 makes trash music"

Dumbass 19 year old is like: "ok boomer"

i work 60+ hrs a week and cant afford shit.

cars paid for / kids taken care of. just no house.

i wonder what it would be like back in the day.
Back in the day a modest income at 40 hours a week would have gotten you a house paid off after 15 years, college funds for your kids, a yearly travel vacation, and a retirement pension at age 55, while wives didn't even have to work.

^^^ this same generation crashed the housing market, they elected Reagan which is when corporations started to jack up the prices of everything in every market and at the same time started to stagnate wages while raising cost of living, they lived in a time period where they could retire younger and have been collecting social security longer than they actually worked and contributed to the social security fund.

But they're the same people saying "these young people don't want to work for anything" while these young people put in full time hours, sometimes in 2 income homes and still are forced to live paycheck to paycheck.
