BUCS SIGN A PAIR OF 'BACKERS

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have cap room out the ying-yang, but haven't been spending it in big chunks. On Tuesday, they agreed to terms with a couple of linebackers, but neither will likely get large chunks of cap pie.

Joining the team, according to reports from folks like our friends at Pewter Report, are Saints linebacker Matt McCoy and Lions linebacker Teddy Lehman.

Meanwhile, they didn't acquire another quarterback. Surprisingly.

BOOKER BACK TO THE BEARS

When receiver Marty Booker was cut by the Miami Dolphins, it was assumed he'd make a beeline back to the Bears, even though he was more than a little miffed when the team traded him to Miami in 2004.

Finally, Booker officially has returned to the Chicago Bears.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times, Booker has agreed to a two-year deal.

Booker spent five years with the Bears and four with the Fins. His best years came in 2001 and 2002, when he caught 100 and 97 passes, respectively.

Booker fills a void created by the release of Muhsin Muhammad and the departure via free agency of Bernard Berrian.

PANTHERS BAG BRAYTON

With veteran Mike Rucker likely to sign with another team (after he returns from a current trip to Afghanistan), the Panthers are making plans for life without him by signing free-agent Tyler Brayton.

Per Adam Caplan of Scout.com, Brayton signed a two-year deal with the Panthers. He'll compete with Charles Johnson for playing time on the right edge of the defensive line.

Caplan reports that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, and Cincinnati Bengals also showed interest in Brayton, who was a first-round pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2003.

I think he'll do better than Muhammad did for the Bears.

^^^stats aint everything pal. if u watched both of them play u would know haynesworth is the better player. the reason williamson's stats look better is because when teams face u they dont just game plan around him as for if teams play the titans thats there main focus on there defense and usually double him up more. c'mon now dont try throwing stats in the mix when u know who's the better player

what are you talkin about, there isn't one play where williams is not doubled teamed. but yeah your right stats mean nothing, why do they even record pointless things like tackles and sacks :cheeky: The only stat that haynesworth is better in is assists and only by 2. Williams has twice as many sacks, 20 more solo tackles, 4 int and 2 tds. So how is Haynesworth better?

GAFFNEY BACK TO THE PATS

A few days ago, the Patriots looked to be in danger of losing receivers Randy Moss and Jabar Gaffney. Now, they're both under contract again.

According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Gaffney has agreed to terms on a one-year, $2 million contract.

In 2007, Gaffney was fourth on the team in receiving yards, fifth in receptions, and fourth in receiving touchdowns.
i guarantee he'll be better than stalworth was, kids gonna blossom real well and he already started last year with some jaw dropping catches

u kidding me? in that type of position stats really dont mean shit. u have to watch a lineman play to know who's better not just look at it on paper.
