Elect Wyking
Wyking, one of our rising young political minds. As an entrepreneur, youth and community advocate, Wyking represents a new voice and new direction for our district. He has been dedicated to youth and community development working in the public schools as a youth development specialist, coaching sports, and directing the Umoja Fest African Heritage Festival & Parade.
He is running as a Lincoln Republican in the spirit of freedom, justice and equal empowerment. Confederate republicans have used the Party of Lincoln as a shield for their racist and insensitive policies and Wyking is leading the national charge to bring the Republican Party back to its pro-freedom roots.
His primary issues are:
Education –
§ Implementing culturally relevant career based curriculum
§ Increasing teacher’s salaries with accountability – merit based pay and incentives
§ Increasing funding of effective academic support and enrichment initiatives/models
§ Making and keeping college accessible at state community colleges and universities
Economic Development
§ He opposes economic racism in the form of gentrification
§ Financial and economic development literacy education for youth
§ Expanding micro lending and small business incubator programs
§ Expanding opportunities for home ownership for low income populations
§ Tax incentives for small business to create jobs rather than to corporations
§ Restoration of felons voting rights
§ African Americans should receive self-governing status similar to that of American Indians
Public Safety
§ Reduce crime by involving youth in positive activities and community development.
§ Build positive institutions such as the African American Heritage Museum & Cultural Center rather than costly subsidized housing for criminals i.e. ineffective prisons.
Government Efficiency
Taxpayers deserve a better accounting of spending of their hard earned money. Wyking is calling for a full investigation in to the City of Seattle sponsored corruption of African American Heritage Museum & Cultural Center and other destroyed institutions
The systematic sabotage and destruction of African-American institutions such as, S.O.I.C., Liberty Bank, Central Area Public Development Authority, Central Area Schools Council, Randolf Carter Center and the resulting marginalization of the African American community must be investigated and exposed. In order to build a thriving community we must learn from and avoid the mistakes of the past and present.
