whats your take on it...whats improved and so on

I haven't really f-ed with it much, but it's interface seems a bit more cleaner and clearer. Some new plugins added as well. They've also added traditional track style sequencing in addition to it's pattern based sequencing, but that's probably something I personally wouldn't be using. A lot of other little things and bug fixes of course, check out the new features in the website link below or download the demo.

i've been using FL since Fruityloops 2.0. i'm amazed at how advanced this program has become. i've moved on to hardware (for now) but seeing this post almost makes me want to switch back.

Yeah it has definitely improved so much. I've been using Fruity Loops since version 3.56. Ever since then, I've stuck with it. I've tried other programs that are similiar like Orion Platinum especially (this program is the closest I've seen to FL), Acid, Live, Tracktion, Cubase, Reason and a few others, but I just can't make stuff easily in those. FL Studio is just so d@mn easy to use IMO and a big part of it I think has to do with it's clear and easy to use PianoRoll, Patterns and Browser. I think it's interface is really clear and easy to see what's happening as well, so that helps. I can actually jam out in no time with FL. Just loop a beat and start jamming on the keys and if it sounds good, record it. I can understand the reason for using other programs like Cubase, etc.., because if you have to use vocals FL is not that good for that, but as far as just strictly beat making goes, I absolutely love FL for making beats.

The only piece of hardware I got right now is a midi controller. All the sounds I really need are in the forms of plugins or samples. I really don't understand the point in buying a synth like the Moog Lil Phatty or Nordlead3..., when I can create sounds just like it with some VSTi plugins I have. I can understand the concept of having the real thing and using it at your finger tips, but cmon, there's really no point, you can run similiar synths from your computer and use a midi controller instead. I guess it's more of a pride thing or something to have the real synth keyboard. Of course if your recording a real acoustic instrument like a Guitar, Bass, piano or something of that nature, your better off using the real thing and micing it up, than using samples or synthesis. But as far as synthesizers go, effects, sampling and sequencing, I think software can handle it just fine. All the nessessary elements to create "music" are there with software as well. I think it all comes down to the producer anyways, if he or she don't know $hit about "music" or uses some wack quality or corny sounds, it's going to sound like $hit whether that person used software or hardware. A lot of people use MPC's, their hardware, but it doesn't make it any better whether that person made that drum loop in a MPC or in FL Studio.

I was one of those people that thought FL was wack. I own tons of gear, but I know this cat Infinity, and he produced the Mary J Blige "Take Me As I Am" cut with fruity and a midi controller. Dude is a beast! It's all the quality of your samples and knowing how to use the shit.
I actually might look into this shit! But last time I checked it was only for Pc, is it for Mac yet?

Exactly, it's all up to the sounds you use and of course having some musical knowledge or "good ears" to arrange it up into a musical form. I definitely recommend it, it's so damn easy to use and it's so flexible with all the plugins you can use with it,etc... As far as it being for the Mac, nah I don't think they have a Mac version yet. How about getting something like virtual PC which allows you to run Windows on Mac, then try to use FL Studio?

Boo yeah, gotta cop it. Does anyone know if you're a registered owner you get this update for free?

I think you do if your the owner of the "downloaded" version from the FL Studio website. However, if your the owner of the "Boxed" version which you can buy at stores like Guitar Center, then no I don't think you can get updates then. I don't know check the website or something. I'm the proud owner of the "cracked" version. lol I ain't got no money for this $hit right now, it ain't like I'm making money off of my beats anyways.

fruity loops 7 is tight. i had the beta version but it won't open now, i think i need a crack. can anyone hook it up?

I got it from magesy.com (you have to register a login name to see the download links)

but here's the direct download link if you don't want to register that awesome site:
rapidshare.com/files/15310981/FL7XXL.rar.html
This link should work also (should be a bit faster than that rapidshare one on top):
sendspace.com/file/g41hq7
Your going to need WinRar or something that can open up "rar" files to extract the files.

FUck the beta version, you won't need it after this one, this one is the FINAL release for now. The beta version runs out of time, even the cracked beta version.

You have to extract all of those also. Those A,B,C,D.... files are just split. They just did that to split the file in smaller segments to create a smaller download file I suppose. A lot of those types of websites do those things. So what you got to do is extract all those files into the same folder and it will automatically combine them to form the 1 setup file, reg file,etc...

Once you extract everything from those individual rar files, there's going to be a total of 4 files:

flstudio7.exe
popup.nfo
popup.reg
file_id.diz

The flstudio7.exe is obviously the main setup file that you will need to install first. Then the next important file is the "popup.reg," just double click the file and click "yes' to everything it asks, this is the file that will register your FL Studio to turn it from a demo to full version. In other words, this file is the "crack" file. The rest of those 2 files are just text files that the cracker group "popup" gives themselves credit for releasing this and explains what it is and how to install, no biggie.

Hey for the Mac thing, Get a program called "Parallels," You should then be able to run FL Studio since that program basically allows you to run Windows on your Mac. My friend showed me it the other day on his Mac Book and I was like WTF! when he had Windows XP loaded up. haha I thought it was too good to be true, but nah it's the real deal.
