Heard "lets get fucked up" but never knew of tech

I was a senior in high school, after school on a friday before one my basketball games, in my car (with a system) and one of my boys slid in a cd, heard "welcome to hell....we have such sites to show you" and then faded into tormented with that heart-beat type bass. I was hooked from then and could never get enough.

You remember when and where you first heard/got hooked on tech?

Down in Branson Missouri on a Weekend Vaction w/ family. I walked into a music store and was digging threw cd's! I came across Absolute Power. I had heard of Tech but never really got into him... the only tracks I knew was Einstin, Planet Rock2k, Lets Get Fucked Up. I had been hearing aLOT of buzz about this Tech N9ne guy so I spent my 15 bucks and got the disc. When I checked out the guy at the counter told me AP had just came out the day before. The WHOLE WAY HOME I listened over and over in my walkman. Within the next week I had every Tech CD I could get!

i heard imma tell on the radio and thought it was a bomb-ass song, but i forgot about it for a while. two years ago i was scanning through the list of most popular videos on launch and saw imma tell and i remembered it, so i listened to it and then slacker...went to buy AP, next weekend i got anghellic: reparation, vintage tech came out a week later and i picked it up right away, and the rest i picked up off ebay

i remember Tech from that old Sway & King Tech album (the posse cut w/ RZA, Eminem (as he was just starting to blow), KRS-One, etc). didn't make much of him at that time.

fast forward to the OG AngHellic from JCOR. i was reading reviews for the album the XXL, The Source, etc. talked about him being dark, bizarre, etc. saw the ads for the album...they even had cardboard signs wrapped around street poles around my old apartment building hyping that album. i went and copped it first day of release. first time i listened to it i was like "WTF?," but i ended up getting hooked.

loved the fact that Tech really started touring hardcore after AP dropped. i didnt find out about that album coming out until almost last minute, but again, copped it first day. sure he was touring before the Wicked Wonka Tour, but honestly, it was him being on that tour that was the catalyst for him getting a bigger fan base and doing more shows more often. the juggalos latched onto him, Bone Thugs fans liked him because of his style, and he snatched up some of those KMK fans as well. i'm big on everybody on that tour (well, not so much on Bone...more 3-6 myself), so tech being on there was heaven to me (his first Chicago performance-though i did check out the Minneapolis Target Center show as well). Too bad Killah priest was knocked off the tour. but yea, that really help jump start Tech's sales and fan base.

Questions....

this thread has been done a million times... everytime a new batch of people get on this board.... then after they get run off by being ridiculed so much another batch comes... or they're the same batch with different usernames.....

next time just search for the old threads and bring them back... like the "classic lyrics and lines" thread JL did....
