Well i just got fried at my job here is the story.

When i first applyed for the job it asked Have you been convicted of a felony (which i havn't) so i circled "NO" then i get hired blah blah blah and today the boss calls me in and says i have to fire you... Because we did a background check on you and you have a Misdenmeanor i said what the fuck? if you have people againt people with Misdenmeanor then why didn't you put have you been convicted of ANY CRIME not just of a Felony.. he said its not the Misdenmeanor we are firing you for it a risk cause your crime is Theft of personal property .....
=
can i do anything about this?

^^ talk to an employment law attorney, first consultation is free. Since they didnt have Felony as a choice, its not really your fault, you might get a severance pay or something out of this, like a month's pay to make you go away.

If you were to go thru all this and that in getting an attny or fighting to get your job back.... even if you were to get your job back.. how pleasant of an environment do you think it would be to work in?

I had an issue similar to this years and years ago... but by the time I got "let go" I had changed my life so drastically that I was more pissed at myself for doing the stupid shit that is on my record for the rest of my adult life.. than I was for being fired..

In the state of Washington...an employer can fire for no reason at all...i dont know how it is in Cali...
I'm pretty sure it's the same in California.

Look at a copy of the employee agreement...it should say it on there.

A lawyer is your best bet, but honestly I wouldnt go back to that crap.
depending on what you do in cali, they cant get away with that shit. if its under the table work, yea your ass is toast. But cali being so PC im sure you can sue them for discrimination of some kind, and a misdemenor is not a felony. how long you been with that place that there just coming at you with this shit? Ive heard of people being fired for stupid shit, but its usually after they record a long record of stupid things youve done, what your attendence is like, etc etc...
good luck man

My mom is an HR manager, and if it is not a contracted type job and is at will, then they can fire you for about anything, unless you can prove discrimination because of race, sex, disability, etc.
