My homegirl showed me this on Myspace...post how many offenders in your neighborhood...Might I add, this is nothing to be proud of or make fun of I just wanted others to be informed...

Since I am in Pullman WA at the moment(small town) there is 1 registered offender...I'm not even gonna find out how many there are at my San Diego location....

P.S. remember these are REGISTERED names, so there are probably a lot more offenders....

There were 0 for two of my locations. I did where I live now and I was happy to see zero. But then, yea, those are just registered ones. Half the people in my town LOOK like sex offenders, haha.

"There are currently 1 Registered Sex Offenders located in your zip code"

Thats bullshit 'cuz I know of at least four in a three block radius. My house always gets shit in the mail "Sex offender moves in neighborhood...". There is a ex-Catholic Priest child molester about a block away, some 18 year old scum bag about 7 houses down...

Google "Sex offenders" and your state abbreviation. I found a Megan's Law site for PA and there's, um.. A LOT of sex offenders registered around where I used to live, and where I live now. Dayum...

That website's bunk, meganslaw showed 71 sex offenders in my zip code while that site said 0. And about San Diego, since I'm moving there next week I already went to meganslaw and I can't believe how many sex offenders there are in SD. I zoomed out and saw a see of blue in san diego, small blue squares are the sex offenders place of residency. Rediculous.

Interesting situation you got there Musty.

Tenderloin (shittiest place in San Francisco) has over 1 registered sex offender per block, and I dunno how many homeless people that sleep in the streets are sex offenders, plus any unregistered/whatever...

Don't be so quick to judge all 'registered sex offenders'. Not all of them are rapists, pedophiles, freaks and child molesters. Anyone who catches a statutory rape charge (19 with a 16 year old, which is NOT uncommon at all) is now a registered 'sex offender'. For the rest of his life, he will never be able to go to a park, attend his children's little league/pop warner/whatever games, not be able to attend his children's graduations, and be the target of hostility from his community. When he is 50 years old, he will still be a registered sex offender, just because he was a horny 19 year old.

Well, on the Megan's Law sites, they have a pic of the person and what they were convicted for. Here's a fucked up fact: I KNOW one of the dudes that lived in my old town.

Dude was messed up, taking drugs a lot and he used stolen credit card numbers to buy a LOT of child pornography. Got caught and did a couple years, and now he's a registered sex offender in the area of child abuse.
Type of Offense: 6312 - SEXUAL ABUSE OF CHILDREN

He's basically stuck in his town for about 7 years. He's dating a friend of mine from high school. She's all about how he's changed, and he's a good guy now. He's got to see an officer every now and then, and there SHOULD be certain jobs he can't have... right?

Dude works at the Arcade at the mall.

Is that right? They didn't do a background check, and he works around little kids all day. He's changed, so he says and his girlfriend ( my friend ) says.

See, that's what is fucked up....his charge makes it seem like he actually touched kids, instead of just lookin at them. Kiddie porn is not cool, but its still not molestation. At least he had the restraint to only look at it and not do it. But if you didn't know dude, and found out he was your neighbor and saw that he was convicted for sexual abuse of children, would you let him sit down and explain to you that he looked at pics, never touched a child, and has been rehab'd.....?

That's a hard thing to decide, because a lot of people get skeeved out on this topic when it's any level of abuse. To a lot of people, there's no difference between looking at pics of kids and touching kids. I mean, look at the flack they give the guy who likes bird porn.

There's a line, and I have to draw it far back. It made me uncomfortable to know that he had sexual desire for children, even though he didn't actually touch a child. But statistics aren't in his favor, sadly. I remember seeing somewhere that those who are interested in a certain taboo practice are more prone to ACT on it when the compulsion becomes too powerful. That's not to say that they ALL act on it.

Just a hard topic, because he's genuinely sorry for what he did and he regrets it. He says he was sick and the drugs made it hard to rationalize things. Dude got raped a few times in jail because they don't like child molesters in there. All they know is what he's there for, and not the details of what he did.

I'm curious to see what folks think of rehabilitation though. He's got to register as a sex offender, but if you knew him through someone else ( not personally close ), would you consider him safe now? Especially if you found out what his actual charges were? Is there a difference between looking at and committing?

Would you give them a second chance? Or is the crime too horrible to forgive? Would you still consider them a risk? What level of offense do you consider intolerable?

The way I see it is buying Kiddie Porn gives money to people that make Kiddie Porn, and when there's a market for it, people will continue to produce it. So anybody that buys it is only adding to the problem.

On that note, I just found out this girl that's trying to get with me has a rapist for a dad. Kind of makes me not wanna fuck her anymore...
