Diablo is considered a MMORPG.. It actually was one of the first.. Just because it dosn't support having hundreds of players on a map at the same time dosnt make it any less then a MMORPG then any other game.. If you google Diablo you will see most people do consider it a MMORPG.

i can do all the googling i want and i will still tell you, that diablo isnt and never will be,a MMORPG. just because there is an online component where you can play co-op doesnt make it a MMORPG. with that logic call of duty is a MMORPG

...and because it doesnt support 100's of people at a time is EXACTLY why its not a MMORPG. hence the word MASSIVLEY in the genre name

i would love to see where people considered diablo a mmorpg. please link me to these sites

^^ i meant more than like 2 people. everybody else on that board disagreed the same way i did.

8 people in a room isnt massive. by those standards EVERY online game is a MMO

MAG is considered MMO because it has 256 people on one server interacting with each other. compared to most shooters which have 16-32. thats the difference

if you consider world of warcraft has close to 1500 on each server interacting you begin to scale of games that are considered MMO

The time to type MMO in google would have been about the same as for the one word sentence you just wrote. Shit is very ironic considering you're the one always appealing to common sense and logic.
Besides, like dude above said, your question has been answered already.

Just look at sites like D2JSP and tell me that that game isnt a MMORPG? Hella people play that game and pay money for the items on it.. D2JSP is proof.. Theres massive ammounts of people playing Diablo 2, you can hop on with friends or complete strangers and play together.. It's a Role Playing Game.. I think that's the definition of MMORPG, right? I don't see how you can see otherwise.. Diablo 2 was one of the first and founding MMORPG's.

You don't get it.

It's not how many people are playing. It's how many people that can interact at one time.

Again...listen carefully. 8 people in a room, 1500 in a room. How can you not see that difference?

I'm sure tons of people play diablo, I'm not disputing that. But the amount of people that play a game doesn't make it a mmo.
