First up the exclusive delay broadcast of MORALES vs. PACQUIAO. Then former junior middleweight champ Fernando Vargas (24-2, 22 KOs) takes on top-rated Raymond Joval (33-3, 15 KOs) in a scheduled ten-round middleweight fight,on boxing after dark.

I'm really pullin for vargas to comeback,if don't workout he
could hang up his gloves today and not have a financial worry in the world,He owns Total Communications by Fernando Vargas, and has been well advised financially by his co-manager, Rolando Arellano. He has spent the past 15 months rehabilitating a bulging disc in his back and also battled and conquered a thyroid condition.Vargas will be moving back down to junior middleweight after Saturday's fight
He wants to fight for the WBC belt which is held by Javier Castillejo.

1) Vargas has a name and a rep.
2) He is mexican.

He can lose his next 3 fights and still make main event on ESPN FNF or an undercard on HBO.

He's not done until he says he's done.

I dont know if he'll handle Joval. He's had a pretty long lay off, plus an injury. He should be able to win this one though.

That is on point.

He fought smart and i thought he did a hell of a job for this being a comeback from an injury. he looked out of shape, but he gon be on a major come-up

I missed tha fight last weekend that they showed before this fight......... Now that was one of the best fights i have ever seen............. sluggish thru 12 rounds and bloody as all hell

can't wait til Vargas gets a title fight........ hopefully he'll get another shot at de-la-hoya and prove himself as tha true champ

Vargas is the truth. The kid rose early, reached the top, and then suffered losses to two Hall of Famers. But he's got the balls to fight the best, learn from his defeats, and keep it all in perspective. That's what life is about. FEROZ KEEP DOIN YOUR THANG BABY!!!!!!!

Yeah right... Vargas is washed up period. He has never been the same since getting handled by Trinidad. Vargas is done... he's not a championship calibur fighter anymore. Trinidad and DeLaHoya beat him so bad that they had to stop the fight. Stick a fork in Vargas because he's done!

I wasn't impressed by Vargas this time out on HBO After Dark. The guy he fought gave it his all and lost a close decision but Vargas didn't capitalize on several power punches that clearly rocked Jovial or whatever his name is. I think Vargas was more defensive trying to protect his chin, although I did see a glimmer of the old Vargas when he got punched in the balls and it fired him up. I'll stay tuned to his next fight to see if he improves.

On the other hand, I got to see the Morales victory over Paki-Ow again, and it was sweeter the second time around.

I don't know I sometimes think that no matter what Vargas is doomed to have people shit on whatever he does. Hell he even knows it and IMO a lot of his past actions will never let people drop the perceptions of what he once was both as a person and as a fighter.Let's face it, though he's only 27 and only has 27 pro fights, Vargas has had a hard career. There's no disputing that. His two losses were brutal knockouts to future hall-of-famers. It's a fact that he's allowed his weight to balloon out of control in-between fights, which can shorten careers. He's had steroids in his body, back problems and a thyroid disorder (which I can tell you from personal experience can be physically devastating). So I'm not going to fault you for saying the young man is shot. Give the dude credit for stepping back in the ring and setting a goal to be back on top.
