after further review i think your photos are headed in the right direction but with some minor tweaks can be a lot better.

some things to try:

1. the lighting is too harsh. try shooting around sun up or sunset for the softest light with the best tones, it makes a world of difference.

2.cropping (or lack thereof) can change a picture completely. take this one for example:

I would crop it like this:

in general i would say you leave too much space, especially over her head. empty space imparts a feeling of loneliness and it loses impact as the eye wanders.

here's another example:

vs

I hope that's helpful.

Them cropped pictures look stupid, your trippin.
It may "make the eye lose interest" as you say...
But, it catches first glance attention if the subject isnt the ONLY thing in the picture.
Leaves more up to the imagination and gives you a better feel of the setting.

I know what he was trying to say and do, he just do it right so it made his point sound retarded...and for the record, its better to crop by resizing using the same canvas instead of actually using the crop tool

i personally like the open space around the photos....unless there is more than 1 object near the subject of the photo, it doesnt take focus away from it....the way Chinese Mike cropped it makes the photo seem too crowded compared to the originals...

no thanks ill leave them the way they are.if you are going to crop you should do it while taking the photo.and personally i like the empty space.i aim to shoot more sky in my photos.
what would you have done dif.?
if you're wondering why i threw my 2 cents in.

anyways my opinion, which is supported by design theory, is that empty space leaves too much room for the eye to wander meaning that when you have so much space around the subject (the chick) then you lose focus on her. if she's not the subject of the photo's then great, but the concept seemed like a faux fashion shoot. so i'm assuming i'm supposed to be paying attention to her rather than the environment or the sky.

hypothetically, if you did an artist photo shoot for me and there was all this empty space in the top third of the frame (sky) i'd be like wtf?
