i was in the store the other day and I bought a couple of CDs (I never buy cd's). really i went in there to get this one cd, and then saw C-Bo had a new one out. I noticed hella cd's had "Featuring" on it. How do yall feel about all these features. Me, I felt like it was C-Bo album and then all these niggas that was "featured" basically did the whole dman tape.

I know some people aren't gonna like what I have to say about this. oh well. I can't stand all these features on tapes. a albumis supposed to be YOUR project. the features are there to make you buy it because supposedly te featured artists are peole we all know. If I made a tape and then I said, "featuring Too Short." you might take a chance onit. But half these cats bein featured are unknown.
A compilation is when you have a bunch of cats that have individual songs on an album. Even compilations can get dicey to me. We finna put out a compilation called "Ice-Cold Heat" after that, solo albums. No features. The compilation is supposed to raise awareness of artists. That is their chance to tell people what they're about. But a solo album.... I meanit's gettin ridiculous. Songs are cut into 3 pieces now and everybody got a verse.
What we say in private, and maybe I'm wrong for thinin like this, but we say that all those features is because an artist is afraid to stand on his own 2.
It's like they only have enough material for 10 songs and are tryin to make an album. Nobody should let someone be on their album if the featured artist is weak. AND< nobody should want somebody to be on their album that's better than them... no artist with pride wants to get outshined on their own shit.
Only thing I can think of is if they are boys or somethin. In that case, start a group.
