What [drum] kits do ya'll mostly use? For example, whenever I make beats, I usually always use an 808 Kit.. what about you? just curious

when i make beats i use snares and rimshots from the 808 kit....as of recent ive been making some r&b type beats using these live drum sounds i got. im starting to use my live drums on a lot of beats....but for kicks i would just layer drums from different kits.

I build my kits from scratch depending on what kind of a beat I want.

I tend to stay far FAR away from factory drumkits in any drum machine or synth because they sound too digital. Unless I'm making some gay shit for Jay-z.

I'm with Nostril King on this one. It depends on what I'm doin, but all my shit is from scratch. Every drum I use is usually sampled off of a record, tv, cd, internet, etc.

I will use an 808 kick sometimes to layer underneath weak sounding kicks. Shit like that, but that's as close as I get to factory drums.

I just realized, I'm a little wrong in what I just said. I sampled all the drums off the mo phatt, and I use those sometimes to layer with other drums too.

i used to use preset kits from the mc505... now i just put shit together (sounds, efx) till i get what i want. or ill use live samples
