I gotta question that really doesn't have to do with the "Designers" directly, but i guess this is more for the "Artist/rapper"

i find myself turning down graphic work left and right lately, because i feel like i dont want to be involved with any kind of stupid fuckin projects. People tell me their ideas, i just shake my head and laugh, tell them an outrageous price so they'll wanna hang up.

How come nobody ever uses real props in there cd covers? almost 99% of the covers have fake money, fake guns, fake backgrounds, fake cars, fake models, fake this, fake that, just a bunch of fake nothings put together to make them look like their something. "Make my teeth bling!!!!!!" LOL They want to appear to have lots of cash for some reason. But barely enough to scrape for a cover...

ARE THERE ANY REAL COVERS OUT THERE THAT ARE ACTUALLY REAL AND DOPE?

i just wanna know.

That's what I'm sayin.

That's what these "mixtape designers" do 24/7. Just steal a bunch of graphic from sum 1... shine it up nice and say they got skills...fukkk that.

Yeah brokeass rappers crack me up

But foreal tho real props are dope! Specially for photography! Fake props can work as long as they accent the cover in moderation and not BE the cover cuz then its just cheezy as fuck

the situation is, rap/hiphop doesn't make enuff money so they are trying to do what they can with as little as possible. if it was profitable and worked then people would do it, they are just doing what works, and rap/hiphop in itself is fake & braggadocious in nature, why wouldn't the covers reflect what it is?

the bottom line is, either be a rapper, or a designer and do what the job requires or just take on personal projects you want to work on....

graphic design is a job, there is no room for emotions & feelings really.. u have to do what is asked of you & obtain the money or either dont..... it's simple.

i like to refer to those designers that paste a bunch of props as scrapbook designers, yea their good at making digital collages. Its alsmost as they feel the need to fill in every empty space with some sort of prop. ie birds, fence, money, helicopters, duffle bags...
