2 additional points I want to add are;

1) between the late 90's and early 2000's, there were a lot of garbage ass cd's being put out, that had only one or two good song on them. so expectedly people got fed-up wasting their money. so once the ability to download music was available, the fans used it as a tool to preview music before buying it.

2) But, being cheap along with other reasons, and also the high cost of living in the bay area, folks just started downloadin music without the intention of ever actually buying the cd. so people got into that habit, which like all habits, is hard to break when you really don’t have to.

I agree good bay area music and the artists should be supported, but I can also see both side of the debate.

I'm probably the only cat on here that can honestly say that I have NEVER burned a CD or EVER owned a burnt CD. Shiiit, I don't even like listening to MP3's. I'm about clean sound quality and trust me a lot of these legit CD's you buy in stores still have terrible sound quality.
Ive neva burned a cd neither. In fact, I wish I could cuz I would like to have listened to some of the cds I have bought over the years that ended up being crap

lol at everyone thinking all burnt cds are all mp3 shitty quality. you can make perfect quality burnt copies too. and if the internet was outlawed, you could still borrow a friends legit cd, rip it and make 100000000 burnt copies. and what does everybody think about ipods?

If everyone just concentrates on building period we will be okay. You could have a public debate for hours as to why the bay isnt successful on a larger scale.

I dont want to beat a dead horse anymore. We (Golden Mean) have made huge strides by having our artists outside of California grinding and making connections. Chuck is 100 percent correct about that. Having enough money is definitely a factor and probably hinders a lot of artists from being able to do it.

Our formula is simple...dope creative artists who are not on a hype and who have credibility in the streets. On the business side we run a tight ship. I dont need to say much else, except that we are poised to be sucessful as a company. We also are positioned in the future to be around when we are not hot anymore. That is as important as blowing up, staying in it....

Ok First off to The person that thinks there is more bootlegging in the ATL than anywhere NEGATIVE! If you do a survey or even go to the south you will see that the average Household does not even have a cd burner! Not only that we were in the ATL trying to make copies of the show cd and had to rent a fucking studio becqause NOONE had a cd burner & if they did it was on a computer with outdated programs.. ATTENTION EVERYONE THE BAY is THE MECCA of technology its a lil place called SILICON VALLEY!!! fucking computer software and cd burner are INVENTED & CREATED HERE! AS far as a market for Bootlegging NEW YORK is The capital they have entire districts for bootlegging and thats because the manufacturing plants and majopr Distributers are there and thats where the leak is.. We bootlegg the fuck out of our own and that aint cool that why NOONE does OUT OF THISD WORLD #'s here DR. DRE and Jay Z have Soundscanned over 100,000 UNITS in just SF-OAK-San Jose on single Albums thats means there are FANS here but We are QUICK to jump on a outsiders Dick when noone is looking but SCREAM BAY AREA! Fake as much shit as we start WE FOLLOW just as much we still alot of people style and support alot of others way BEFORE we get behind our own cuz we take Bay Area rappers for granted cuz we can see them @ a local club, the mall, or fuckin drive down there block and see a couple of em, As for 40 Soundscan warner bros and BME KNOW and always knew it was gunna be along push to get the #'s they want and Everyone is working hard.. keysha Cole would have never went platinum if her MACHINE (Interscope) didnt believe in her and keep pushing shooting Videos and getting her Appearances on everything until The World took notice.. water will be Ok trust me dog U and dat will Pop, then if the shoot a Video for one of the south records like the one with Mike Jones.. the South can pick up another 400,000 sells easy... BUt 40 wants to rep the yay and shoot that song or Muscle cars BUT ME Im trying to talk him out of it FUCK keep trying to put the bay On seems like alot of people are fucking Ungrateful for ALL the ATTENTION that 40/warner/BME is getting us as a REGION! Really we need to be Thanking LIL JON HE IS BRINGING US BACK in all Actuality! He gave 40 & TOO SHORT POWERFUL singles! And his pushing them because they were some of the first people to Fuck with him... Hell he is even working with me for a single for BIG RICH all out of Love for THE BAY! So man lets quit complaining and work We need more people to put out good albums and ACTUALLY sell.. We need artist, CEO's and managers to actually get the fuck off their ass and TRAVEL Push the movement in other areas.. So they know its More 40.. Instead of just trying to give a record to von hoping he plays it and sell2- 5 thousand copies! Put it on the lines if you really want it tell your girl/bm that you are gone on the road till November trying to make your Dream happen thug it out take some of the homies who tell you that you are dope all day and make them kick that sac money in on you getting on.. hit the west region if ya cant go all over shit you can drive to seattle its bay artist thats never seen the place...... cmon Lets Go Bay or lets shut up..
REAL MUTHAFUCKIN TALK... ABOUT EVRYTHING. I AGREE WIT U ON THE 3RD SINGLE BEIN THAT "IM DA MAN" TRACK... 40 WANTS TO REP THE BAY.. THERES PLENTY OF TIME FOR THAT IF THE BAY GETS KNOWN... HE NEEDS TO PUSH UNITS... AND BY THAT, I'M SAYIN' PUSH FOR "U & DAT", THEN HIT EM WIT "IM DA MAN"... THEY BOTH HAVE GREAT MAINSTREAM SOUND FOR FOLX TO BE INTERESTED ENOUGH TO COPP THE ALBUM... DNT LET HIM FUCK UP ON MAKIN THAT MUSCLE CARS CUZ AINT NO ONE GUNNA BE FEELIN IT OTHER THAN THE BAY.. THE BAY FEELS THE BAY... WE NEED OTHER REGIONS TO FEEL IT TOO!

point blank,illegal downloading of music,software,and films will never end,

bootleggers be eatin, u can get 5cds for like 20$ i mean in all reality,its prolly more bootleggers then drug dealers nowadays, i remember when i was in highschool i use to hustle bootleg shit,just so i can eat myself,im not ashamed of it but i kno how it can reallly fuck with an idependent artist career,and how come im hearing more shit about bootlegging now then 10years ago,when damn near everybody and they momma was sayin "ay,dub that shit for" it changed from "dubbed, to "burn" " i dont see no end coming to it anytime soon,unless they come with sum new technology that helps this situation,which iam in the process of inventing myself

Hey as far Other artist getting signed.. Its not looking as good as t was just a month ago.. A few artists got deals on the table and a few artists HAD deals on the table and for a couple reasons got them snatched off the table.. WE NEED to step our business up man hire good Lawyers and managers.. Quit having people with no experience talk for artist or artist talking for themselves is not the answer.. BUT Federation signed with warner and THEY push their artists.. And Clyde Carson Deal will be inked by next week looks like. OTHER than thatThere is not too much going on..

Chuck speaks the real... And As far The Bay Dropping The Ball... I doubt it.... If The Bay Get Some Good Mainstream Singles Out There And Unity From Other Bay Artists I Can See More Artist Getting Signed... If Clyde Carson Gets Signed Its Curtains... He's Mainstream With Street Appeal.. Plus He Got Spits... Its A Done Deal..
