its obvious, out of the many bay area rap artist most known, mista fab and e-40 were the 2 that got involved with the hyphy movement which i can now call a gimmick cause i could see it dying out by the day. hyphy wont die, but the movement will. to me, all that hyphy music shit artists put out constantly looks real bad on their resume. for instance, that Ghostride It song fab put out killed it for me. Shit just sounded too generic. yellow bus, get retarded... come on now. isnt Going Dumb itself already enough? Fab did too much if you asked me. if he was to put out a serious album in the future that didnt include all that stupidity, i would still have to reconsider even listening to it cause when he went Retarded on The Yellow Bus, i cant imagine ever buying a album from someone who pushes those kindve lyrics. 40 isnt that far from it, but i guess 40 has a stronger resume which could exclude all the hyph-tracks hes done, plus, his hyphy-tracks sounds more well produced. a real hyphy track will "get your hood stomped", not "get retarded."

yeah i feel you on that. i liked e-40's old albums better than my ghetto report card. and even mistah f.a.b., tracks he made on son of a pimp are better then most of his new songs liker ghost ride it. that song is garbage. but i understand exactly what you mean by e-40 and mistah f.a.b. not takin as serious.

Hell Yeah I take E-40s music seriously. I dug his last album.
If FAB continues to make songs like N.E.W. Oakland and if If was a 5th I will still take him seriously also.

I take 40 seriously no matter what... he paid his dues enough.. He has had so many albums but didnt get too much play outside of Cali, until his latest album. So maybe it took him getting into the Hyphy shit to finally make the money he should have been making A LONG TIME AGO... soooo many rappers bite off 40 so you have to repsect that and take him seriously.. thats just my opinion...

Yeah sometimes Fab kills the songs hes on because of his retarded chinstrap yellow bus lyrics, like Ghost Ride It and Helmet on my Head, but those beats are straight fire. Fab can spit but he shud stop rapping about that crap, people wont take him seriously.

Forty Water yes, Mistah FAB has never appeared to be serious. He talks about the same old shit in every song, its annoying. He needs to learn how to rap or get out the game.

i still look at both in the same manner.

40 always been the type to keep with the time and not seem like he stretchin too much. His verses/features on the latest singles have been carryn songs!

Fab, eh I guess his novelty is wearin off and its gettin a lil repetitive but its still some coo listenin.

its coo to be able to listen to shit without havin to be overly critical, its just music not politics.
