Yeah, it seems like most people don't know what emo originally was . . . of course I wasn't too much into that either. To me, it seemed true Emo-core reached its peak in the early 90s when I was living in DC. For a while it was the only stuff Dischord seemed to be putting out. Like I said, I wasn't feeling it back then though . . . for me it was all about Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, Sick of it All, Gut Instinct (B-More's finest!), early Biohazard, Slapshot and a lot of Oi! stuff.

Today's "emo", like I said before sounds like a type of death metal (If I want to heard that I'll put on some Dissection or early Entombed).

I was going to ask if you were from DC. I like Sick of it all, the Cro-mags, Madball, agnostic front, blood for blood, all that shit. Rites of Spring suck, but it was pretty much the original emo

i knew this girl who was my classmate in HS and i see her once in awhile at my college and she got both her clavicles pierced. i know piercings, and tattoos are forms of it, but most tattoos, ear and nose piercings, and MAYBE lip piercings are coo, but facial tattoos, other then tear drops, and them streatched out eas holes, and all that other under the skin shit is just too bizzare for me to comprehend..

That sounds like the more extreme variety. That sounds like something those fools in Salt Lake City would do. Their SxE scene was always violent. I don't know what they're doing nowadays but they made alot of noise in the late 90s (like carving an "X" into some dude's back and pretty much fighting anyone).
