Too me CD's are slowly becoming obsolete. Just like cassettes, made vinyl obsolete, digital technology will make CD's obsolete. Proof iz there, compare album sales to 5 years ago and compare digital downloads to 5 years ago. Hell, the downloads are just if not more important than SoundScans. I don't personally own an MP3 or IPod, but I've bought my kids MP3's and Ipods. I keep all my music on a flash drive that I've downloaded off of LIMEWIRE. The last time I went to a music store to buy music was when Damion Marley dropped "Welcome to JamRock". I'll never buy music from a record store again, and I'm an old cat.... lol...

im not really asking you guys individually if you prefer to buy an album or an mp3

but rather im trying to discuss the reality of the record labels selling a format of music that is disappearing
o believe me record labels are on top of it, whatever people are buying, theyre selling, why u think i tunes and ringtones n shit were even invented

if people stopped buyin cds theyd stop sellin em and vice versa wit digital shit, sometimes they even dictate what the fuck is gonna be big next cause they got the power to put it out and advertise it

I'll never buy an album on mp3. I might purchase a song one day but havne't yet.

I have to admit I haven't bought an album in probably over a year but that's only cause I've gotten myself in to financial hell. One day when I get caught up again though I'll go back to buying, but for now it's download central around here.

i think the labels should include an mp3 download link along with the cd

i don't think it will cost them anything and that way you'll feel like you're atleast getting your money's worth and won't have to rip the songs from the cd yourself
