He is probably referencing the fact that such things as copies sold at the shows don't count as they aren't "Scanned," thus not counting on SoundScan nor Billboards, but I don't want to go putting words in his mouth or anything, so if he is indeed speaking of something different, then he'll have to inform you.

I dont see how Tech has close to 600,000 albums sold independently yet no one seems to give him any respect in the industry. Fucking eminem couldnt even lay down 16 bars for him yet he is doing shit with TI(whack) for TI's new album. It has to take Em two minutes to lay down 16 bars. Its time for major artists to throw him on their songs.

If the label wants to pay SoundScan 500.00 a year they will count the albums sold at venues.

$500 is nothing when it comes down to it. gotta spend money to make it. paying that $500 is just investing into your own business.

actually soundscan adds 15% to your total sales to account for sales at moms and pops and any other venue. for those who don't understand basically if you sold 1000 c.d's via soundscan the amount of sales posted would be 1150. Why the actual number sometimes gets misplaced is because underground artist tend to sale more then 15% of their product at moms and pops stores some times its closer to 25%.

as of the billboard charts.

93: TECH N9NE EVERREADY (RELIGION) 1498 84185

that is off the top 100 independents for the week of 3/38/07. it shows 1500 sold that week, for a total of 84,185 total.

This number is very close to accurate because of the fact that retail did not want to place a very large initial order on the album. Retail was under the assumption that Tech would not sell very well based on Vintage Tech numbers. That album was not even promoted heavily, it was mostly underground, so it was not wise to base the numbers on that.
There have been many reorders of Everready from retail chains and they keep selling out (they keep ordering in small amounts in many markets). This is contrary to other independent artists who have a lot of returns because of ridiculously high initial orders.
Also note that even after almost five months out, the record is holding steady. This puts Everready in a different light. There are no "ghost" scans on this record and albums sold by Strange are reported to Soundscan. This has also been achieved with very little radio support. Travis has us working a very strong well designed plan that is raising a lot of eyebrows in the industry.

i still love going into Best Buy to this day and still seeing the 7 full rack slots for tech, and them always being empty except for maybe 1-2 anghellic, 1-2 AP, and maybe 1 VT. was up there yesterday, and Everready was nowhere to be found in the whole store.
