lol.. I was joking bro. Don't take it serious. You asked what did "Golden State" have to do with Bay Area. The term was based on the Gold rush that took place in San Francisco. Hence, the Golden State connection to the Bay Area/Northern Cali.

And now the New Orleans team is called the Hornets..... but Utah is the Beehive State. They should just trade nicknames straight up.
