The Salad Bowl (Salinas, Ca) is famous for a couple of things. It's home to famous author John Steinbeck ( I may not be spelling that right, it's late), it's the salad bowl of the world, it is home to 2 Face Ent. and many talented folks like me (I'm talented, just go with it).
We've got a lot of people starting their own labels here but one that I think will stand out is Salad Bowl Records and it's artists/owners Cal Paradox and Demian. Their sound isn't typical (in my opinion) of rap music coming out of the area or the West Coast in general. It's universal and a breath of fresh air.
I know starting your own label and releasing a cd is the popular thing now, almost a fad, but I believe these guys have something.
