I was watching grimie gone wild dvd and e-low was talkin about beats and how some producers are fuckin it up by only chargin 2-$300.Its a vicious cycle the way dago artists do business and these producers need to break the chain.I was choppin it up with 3 different homies the other day, one was from watts the other from lynwood the other from gardena,I asked what they would pay for beats jay capone was like let some producer try and get him to buy a beat for 1500 hes liable to haul off on em.,they were saying maybe 300 if it was tight.I disagree completely especially since the beat makes up 50% of the song.It seems like some are buying alot of bullshit for a few hundred dollars so they can put out a few projects .Why not pay extra and get some heaters and make one hot project at a time.I know on the business side some artists are given advances and they gotta live off that, so they cut corners cause they cant mange there money,or cash stopped coming in and shit,Its hard for producers to make it cause no one wants to spend money out in the west(most, not all) Its better to trade beats for verses and make your own hot products at least you know it aint gonna be know bulshit, and sell some beats on the side.

IM 2 SIDED ON THIS SUBJECT. MY FIRST OPINION ON THIS IS THAT "RAPPERS" DONT HAVE ALOT OF MONEY. LETS FACE IT I RARELY SEE A UNDERGROUND RAPPER WHO AINT BROKE I MEAN WITH THE COST OF EQUIPMENT STUDIO PROMOTION BEATS MASTERING MIXING AND NUMEROUS OTHER THINGS IT ADDS UP. SO I FEEL WHERE RAPPERS ARE COMMING FROM ON "SQUEEZE EVERY PENNY". NOT ONLY THAT ALOT OF RAPPERS DONT KNOW HOW TO DO BUSINESS SO THATS WHY THEY END UP PUTTIN IN MORE MONEY THEN THEY GET BACK.
OPINION 2.
IF RAPPERS WOULD LOOK BEYOND THE MONEY AND SEE WHAT THE FEUTURE HOLDS THEN THEY WOULD SEE WHATS REALLY ON THE OTHER SIDE. MY POINT IS IF U GET A HARD ASS BEAT THEN NO DOUBT IT WILL PAY OFF IF U PROMOTE IT RIGHT. HAVE ANY RAPPERZ MADE IT WITH WACK BEATS? YEH BUT DO THEY GET ALOT OF RADIO PLAY OR RESPECT FOR THERE MUSIC? NOT REALLY. IF U GUNNA DO SUMTHIN DO IT RIGHT. IF RAPPIN IS WHAT U WANNA DO THEN DO IT PUT IT ALL IN DONT GO HALF WAYZ CUZ THEN U ONLY GUNNA GET LESS THEN HALF BACK.ITS A GAMBLE BUT IF ITS YA DREAM GO FOR IT.

I agree !00% I look it it likr this O.k. this producer charges $1000 a beat, but if you buy more then one he will go down to maybe $800, and if you buy an album package he may give you a better deal.Producers will for the most work with you, just dont push the limit.Example this one rapper was gonna buy a beat that was normally$1000, but being the producer needed the cash he said $500,so when the rapper comes he has $400, the producer is like fuck that-Its the principles.
Back on subject,If Im a rapper and I beleive I can blow with the right beats then save buy a couple beats,so on and so on,in about two years you will be sittin on somethin hot its better then puttin out shit for two years straight. If you lookin to get a deal, you can lease beats for cheap, instead of buying them outright so instead of paying $500 a beat you spending $50 and you can use it for demo purposes, but the producer can sell it anytime to anyone,so If you beleive in yourself that much then invest in yourself its like buying stocks in your own future, and if you are young or older shit we go through money spending it on bullshit like cars and shit(if you got the money cool)

Man... I wont even charge a nigga much if I know he's gonna do something with it... But most of these cats complaining about the price of a beat are the ones that buy it, record it and play it to the homies... They really dont know what the fuck they gonna do with it... So a producer ends up giving you a heater for a cheap price but you aint doing nothing to get his name out there... So is better to check a nigga's resume these days if you ask me... Thats why I dont sell beats to anyone... I keep the shit to myself... I gave 1 to Boss Man Hogg cuz he was feeling it... but If he didnt want it... I would have kept the shit for myself cuz I know I'm gon' do something with it... So it really all depends on what you can do for the producer after he drops the price for ya... but thats just my opinion... I told myself like 6 years ago.... I aint paying for beats... So Imma make the shits myself... So for the most part... I make my own shit... and buy 1 here and there... Ya feel me?

i mean lets face the facts...
if i sell a beat for a g, ain't nobody gone buy it cuz who the hell is jetson nobody knows me?
but if am on hella complialtions and albums AND i have a few hits under my belt, i don't see it being a problem why i can't charge a mufucka whatever i want...
but jetson got em for cheap so holla! ha ha
like nan dog for instance, this guy has been producin yuk for the past 2 years. whatever this cat charges should be respected becuase he has a resume under his belt. the same with crciet or e-low or ecay steve, d-moss etc...
but these no name cats with they frooty loop beats? ummm no!
