YOU GOTTA START FROM SOMEWHERE NIGGA...if you ain't got nothin to show that yo shit can sell you ain't gettin signed by major labels point blank period...ain't no fuckin label sign jeezy or luda because they had connections...they signed them because they saw the potential in them from the albums they put out on indie...you take a young rapper that can sell thousands of units on they own and can get spins on the radio wit lil promotion and you mold him into a star...how you think houston blew up a couple of years ago? cuz all them niggas was on they grind sellin hella cd's independent

"You keep talking about spins on the radio, well don't you think it would be a whole lot eaiser for a Westcoast nigga to get play if they had Dre's backing?"

dre ain't givin a non established westcoast nigga a beat to see if he can get spins on the radio...you better already be established so he can be insure that he gettin broke off
The connections is what got them deals. Kinky B grew up with jeezy, and was working in the music business. Kink got Jeezy's music to the right people, and Jeezy got signed. Luda got his music to the right people that he knew from his Djaying days, and he got signed. Aint to many niggas like D-Lo that get on the radio before they got a deal. And aint to many niggas getting deals without knowing the right people. All them cats in Houston knew each other, been rapping wit each other for years. That was a case of hard work finnally paying off. But look at them now....Selling out the trunk can only get you so far. Everybody needs a push from somebody big, if u want to be a fixture in the game. Paul Wall and Mike Jones are offically IRRELEVANT to the rap game now.

So just because a nigga ain't getting radio spins, they're non established? Mistah F.A.B. gets ZERO spins out here. Ya Boy doesn't get spins in the Bay. Yukmouth doesn't get spins. Hella niggas ain't on the radio, but are nationally known. It's plenty cats that Dre could help out, that are already established. He's not obliged, it's just something that I would do because of loyalty to where I'm from.

do you see what i just underlined? that's what got them signed...if they didn't have music to put out through indie they would have not got signed...fabby is signed to atlantic not cuz he got connections...but cuz son of a pimp sold good and n.e.w and super sick wit it was gettin radio spins out here...just like you said ya boy ain't gettin radio spins that's why he ain't on a major and it don't matter if he known nationally...so is hella other mixtape rappers that ain't signed to a major...yuk was established because he sold records and had radio spins but the nigga just fell off

just because mike jones and paul wall is irrelevant NOW don't mean both of they albums didn't go platinum when they was signed to majors...and the reason why they irrelevant now ain't because they sold albums out the trunk...it's because they wasn't that good in the 1st place

i see it like this: supply and demand

if he gave everyone a beat - it wouldnt be as raw to get a dre beat and people wouldnt be as eager to hear a new song produced by dre. if he was on every single like t-pain and making all the beats u hear on the radio - im pretty sure we would all get tired of it. thats why hes an ASSHOLE like when your selling weed and you got the best weed ever and everyone else in town got some regular ass shit and everyone and they mama begging for a bag then 1 day u bless someone wit a bag and he go smoke it with the homies and everyones like DAMMMM lets get some more of that and they come back and its all bad!!! now everyone wants it word gets around u got the best weed in town and next thing u know u gotta change your number all them damn calls ur getting

not to say 40 dont deserve a beat though if anyone from the bay deserve a dre beat its 40 and im sure it could happen. but people trying to clown dre or call him a bitch - nah that some gay shit thats not how he moves i can see u gotta develop demand for your product and it wont happen if your flooding the market with it scarcity is key - keeps them wanting more

as far as detox though any time dre...

This doesn't have anything to do with record sales or who "deserves" production from Dr. Dre. This is about respect, artistry, and longevity. If you look at 40's work, he has worked with almost everyone from almost everywhere from independent to majors over the past 20 years. I can't name a known rapper from the west that he hasn't been on a track with. 40 wasn't begging or even making the case that he is deserving of Dre's production. He said he respects his work and out of respect for what he has done over time it would be nice to work with him. He's gotta point. The difference between what I think I know of Dre and what I do know about 40, is that 40 is a humble dude. He ain't stuck up when it comes to his position in the game. I respect Dre as an artist, but fuck how he reps the west coast. He has enough money and leverage in the game to where he could be exactly what he wants to be, a producer. I doubt he gives a fuck about the cost, as much as he does about making great music. Nothing wrong with that.
