That track 'Earl' is super slap... I wish the whole album was like that one track... honestly the rest of it sounds coo but not much stands out to me... maybe I gotta soak it in more but the last album was better way more slappers on it. I'm still gonna cop it though.

Comparing this to "My Ghetto Report Card," I think "The Ball Street Journal" is more lyrical. MGRC was the peak of the hyphy movement, and had the type of slaps that were str8 up hyphy influenced. TBSJ aint on the hyphy tip, reminds me more of the old 40.

I aint listened to the Quinn yet but lets keep it real....this new 40 is on BLAP! i mean one listen is all it took for me to jump on here and co/sign that this is one of the hardest albums of the year....if you dont like this and you claim to be a bay rap fan YOU ARE TRIPPIN!
word 2 that. only people who were tardy 2 bay rap talk bad bout 40. the majority of em prolly mac dre bandwagoners who got in2 bay rap post dre death. anybody who listened 2 bay rap in the 90s knows 40 always has been & always will b that dude.

40 dropped a completed, well rounded album! He does have some commercial shit on there, but he did not desert his core fanbase. He got some mob shit and some hyphy shit on there. Good, crisp ass production. I think some of these other bay cats need to use this joint as a blueprint on dropping a hot ass CD that will also sell!

Lastly, and I'm ready to catch flack for this statement so I'll stick around for it, but I'm putting this joint up there with In a Major Way! And this is coming from a cat that was old enough to drive when that shit came out. Like really slappin that shit 4 deep in the lode. This makes is last CD sound soso. I still bump Grit/Grind, Charlie Hustle, Major Way...this one is going down in the books! Don't hate the dude for trying to get some of that south money too! I fuck with that south shit anyway so its all good
