Stop blaiming bootleggers. Every region has bootleggers. Atlanta has more bootleggers than the entire bay area. You can get any CD at damn near any mall outside of Buckhead. T.I still did huge numbers. NYC mad bootleggers. Stop making excuses like thats the reason why. It may have a tiny impact but not enough to kill sales by hundreds of thousands. By the way its still early. This shit will easily go gold.

You say only. There are no artist from the bay who has sold 70k records period in a long long time inside the bay and out combined. (Besides bash)
I'm trying to make a point here...Eeveryone is talking all this Bay is Back stuff and we are still bootlegging and burning our own artists....The point I'm tryin to make is that if we want to be "BACK" we need to BUY our own music. I was trying to explain how the South is better at doing this(buying music cause they want to see their region blow up and succeed). 70k isn't bad at all, but at the same time...when have you seen more hype and promo behind a Bay record. You mean to tell me that there are only 70k in the bay and Sac that want to see 40 and the rest of the bay shine????

And like i said before, this is STILL only one single and two months after the release...let's just give it some time. I want to see 40 sell records as much, if not more than anybody else out here.

40 never did these kind of numbers before on any album
bullshit In A Major Way and Hall Of Game both went gold in 3 months
and Element Of Surprise went gold in 2 months
seems like having lil john behind him didn't help him at all

I really hope 40Watermelon goes gold and hopefully platinum because he really deserves it. I'm a big fan and I've always been, so I'm always going to keep supporting 40 till I die. He's one of the coolest rappers ever and from what he came from and to where he's at now, that's a BIG accomplishment.

lmao... it's kinda funny. i think gold would be a huge accomplishment for Earl. at first, a lotta people on here were like "He gon blow up off Tell Me When To Go." when album sales slowed a bit, it was like "Once BET stop hatin on us, it'll blow up." BET started playin it, album sales still ain't where y'all expected. Now it's "Wait til U and Dat video comes out and hits airwaves and clubs nationwide." If U and Dat doesn't push Earl over the million plateau, what's next? "Wait til the next album!!!"

The success of this album should be judged after 1 year. That is how long it has been said they would support it. That is when an album has flopped, not after a few weeks but when the label stops supporting the album. How long has it been, a month?

Thank you. Stop it with the flop/not flop bullshit. Truth is no one knows how it really is going to sell until the label stops pushing the album or the sales are insignificant. If 40 is still gettin 10k a week, its still good. Don't forget many hung Chamillionaire out to dry until Ridin Dirty dropped. 40 hasnt even released a 2nd video yet. Until the album stops selling or the label stops pushing, then we can talk flop/no flop. Until then can we just enjoy the fact that this region is getting attention.
