i just watched Treal TV 2 and San Quinn the rock ...good dvd's, but they were both lacking in the same way

if they had put a little more effort into the quality of the sound recording at the shows it would be a huge improvement

one segment of The Rock had live audio, it was a bad recording ..but i still thought it was the best on stage footage on the dvd... you could tell that if it was recorded better it would have sounded great

i thought the same thing about the FAb freestyle segment on treal tv 2

...also, people assume that the artist is a bad live performance if you just play the studio recording over the footage

dont get me wrong, i liked them.. i bought both the dvd's and i'll buy their future releases, but there is room for a lot of improvement

Consider this, if you recording from a cam corder of video footage chances are the camera is at a far distance thus you gotta depend on the built in mic to collect any sound thats close to it. Most concerts the mics and equipment they are using arent very reliable and most of the time dont function properly. Now if they was to have a seperate mic and recorder closer it be a different story.

ummm.. you got the right idea, but they dont have to bring the mic closer.. they need to record straight from the artists mic

^^you can get a iriver for around 100 that has input in and records up to 228kbs and you can hook it up to the sound board, but at little clubs you cant control there audio levels everytime i used it one mic would be perfect then the main mic would be too distorted, cause they change the levels so the backups arent as loud and usually at the last second

you can just use a limiter and you wont have that problem
