O.K. Im gonna give MY OPINION.......I think its a great networking tool, and places like youtube are a great avenue to get heard.I think its serving its purpose...no disrespect intended, but where is the creativity?Rappin in front of a car....that shits boring..again it served its purpose....Mc eiht just did the same thing, again great for promotion, but definatley nothing i would want to watch over and over.
The only reason why Im posting this is because Im not sure if everyone is being honest, and just to give another opinion....My intentions are not to bring anyone down, but to elevate them.
Its funny cause the other day I was driving and thinking of the youtube situation and formulating some ideas, and realizing what a great marketing tool..i was listening to power 106 and LL.COOL J was on and his new song with J-LO played and Liz a radio host was like..she wasnt really feelin the song until she seen the video, now its one of her favorite songs right now, that sparked my memory when Ive heard numerous times how people said the same thing about Missy elliot, that its her videos that drive people to buy her albums, without that creative visual, her album sales would not be what they are.We are underdogs in this rap game right now, some say we on that same old school gangsta rap page....they right...we live where its gang infested, and where they are from it was a fad that came and gone.I cant be mad for them not to understand that for many its a way of life.I feel if we made creative videos..that were entertaining as well, we could get a better understanding, and people ggonna realize this aint no fad..we aint gotta get hyphy, thizz faced to sell a record....i hope I spark some convo on this, this issue could be more important then we think, cause avenues like you tube could be the next thang happenin, and it could benefit not just the artists, but help put us back on the map.
