Yes, even in the rain, Bay Area rappers are hard at work. On Thursday, March 9, the Bay Area’s own Dru Down and Lee Majors recorded their video for the upcoming new joint, CASH ME OUT.
The video was shot from a few familiar spots around Oakland – from High Street to Tom’s Jewelry on E 14th to The Coliseum BART Station to The Wild Card, with many Bay Area rappers in attendance to show their support for Dru Down and Lee Majors. Among those hanging out were M-Dash…..The Jacka …..Rahmean…..20….the Bay supports its own!
Simultaneously, a documentary video called Bay Area Giants, Bosses, and CEO’s was being shot by CharleZ of Blazon Entertainment. “It’s about time the story was told about all the hustling and hard work that goes with and into becoming a successful rapper/artist, especially in the Bay. We’ve worked long and hard for the recognition we deserve, and I think the spotlight has finally swung our way. That’s the business!”
I caught up with M-Dash to find out about his latest projects. In between phone calls arranging for studio time and arranging for the artists he represents to come out to the shoot, he told me that he’s hosting an online radio show at SacTownRadio.com (the Cannibus Club Sessions – click here for show times, etc) AND has two new CD’s out: Smokey Robinson – a hot mixtape featuring (among others) Mac Mall, Lee Majors, Stizon Skrilla . This joint even has drops from local stars such as Mistah Fab, JT the Bigga Figga, Sean T, Rihanna, A-Wax, DJ Backside, and much more…NOT to be missed! Also, The Chain Smokin Syndrome mixtape, featuring Mistah Fab, Turf Talk, E-40, Keak, Suga Free, Stizon Skrilla, Juelz Santana, and much more…you don’t wanna miss out on either of these new hot joints!!
You can purchase these CD’s online (CDbaby.com) and at most records stores around the Bay including Moses Music, Rasputins, and Show.
