whos seen this movie?...when i first saw a preview of it i thought it looke like a decent horror movie by todays standards, but the movie is a little freaky...its one of those phsycological thrillers.

at time i felt like the kid was being controlled by the governemnt through his medication, then i thought the kid weas possessed by the devil which was that old crazy lady...then it turns out he was like a time traveler in training or some shit.

anyone with more info on the movie please share your opinions...what the fuck was going on?...was the whole time travel thing ?...did his mom die in that plane crash that seemd to turn into a time portal?, what the hell was all that about the end of the world?..did the time travle give donnie the option of dying by that planes engine falling on the house instead of facing the end of the world?...wtf??

i was pretty gone whil watching this movie so maybe i missed a few things.

so what the hell was up with the movie?

if donnie doesnt die at the end everything is gonna be fucked up. because its when he dies all this stuff comes to light and he saves his moms and sis. but the cool thing about it all is that once donnie does die it doesnt change what happend to everyone. they all remember what had happend in those days like it was a long bad dream. there for donnie saves the world(around him) kinda. and he doea time travel for all this.

My favorite Movie... lol, why is everyone saying Frank was a demon? did you watch the whole movie? It was Donnie's sisters boyfriend. Watch it again, when theyre at the party, look at the note on the fridge, "Went to go get more beer, Frank" And its in the hand writing that was around the mongrel, "They Made Me Do It"

I took it like this. Donnie realized that he had to die to save everything that he already fucked up (Gretchens death, his mom & sister dying, Frank dying, Swayze getting busted) Frank was a messenger sent to show Donnie that he had a choice to make, live and have his life be fucked, or go back and die and save everyone... If you watch the extras on the DVD it shows pages from the book that Grandma Death wrote and it explains things a lot better. Each character had a special purpose in the time travel.

Another thing, in case you didnt know, was that Roberta Sparrow (Grandma Death) knew that the world was going to end after she wrote her book. Which is why she went crazy and why she was always looking into her mailbox. She was waiting for the letter from Donnie which said that he figured it all out and was going to make the right choice.

You can get it from a alot of places. I got the VHS used, for $4 from Hollywood video. They have it at BEst Buy for like $9 on dvd...

that movie was a good one. i think the movie had to do with donnies choices and how his actions effected everyone. towards the end everything starts to make sense.

Another over rated movie jocked all too often by all too many people.

Not horrible, but def. over rated.

Worth watching on a cold raining day when there is nothing else on HBO, but not worth paying money for.

dogg thanks for explaining it....

for awhile i thoughht the movie was ment to be taken however the viewer wanted but the ultamite basic thingh is that donnie had to die to change what happend
