Does our Prison system need reform?

What are your thoughts/views on the prison system here in the US. If it needs reform, what would need to be done?

Yes.

Eliminate 3 strikes for starters and release all who are incarcerated for 'victimless crimes' (i.e. drug and prostitution charges). Quit outsourcing prisions to the private sector. Increase educational resources, libraries, vocational programs, ie less weights more books. Give judges some actual JUDICIAL DISCRETION (as opposed to the current revolving door legislative system).... that's just for starters...
