The Bay had multiple years to to take over, starting in 2003-2004 from Mac Dre. Unfortunately this didn't happen due to what happened to Dre. Then we had E-40 in 2005 which failed. Then there was F.A.B. in 2006-early 2007 which didn't do shit. And now everyone is talking about Clyde Carson & Ya Boy in 2008. No disrespect to eaither of them, but it's not gonna happen. Like it's been said before, no one knows how to market the music from this area, and it's not the artists fault, it's the fans. With the shit that's going around now, Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, etc., how do you get fans of this type of music (which is a large percentage of the mainstream listeners) to get into someone like Clyde, Ya Boy, or even F.A.B.? If this does happen, it's going to take a lot of plotting and planning by the artists and the majors that are picking them up, so you might not see it happen for a few more years (possibly 2010-ish). But the main thing is for the artists to keep making good music, they'll make the money that they're making now if you (the fans) just continue to support them and buy the music. Personally, I'm looking for something different to come out of the Bay (and Northern California/Northwest) before I can fully get behind it. Like dude said earlier, if it's not Mob Figaz, Hiero, Lynch (and some more) I'm not interested. I'm not impressed with what the Bay and Northern California is doing right now on the music scene.
