In the last year or so Mac Dre has been one of the most dissapointing rappers I have listened to. In my opinion Mac Dammit and Thizzle Washington were put together very poorly, not only lacking the traditional saucy Mac Dre flow but also suffering from lackluster production. Recently on a post at Raptalk.net I even said the great MD should hang it up.

Still, something told me Mac Dre got something left in him. I couldnt figure out what it was until recently...

Mac Dre sounds excellent on other people's CDs...I just dont get it..."1 @ a Time," and "Show Me The Way" from Green Eyes are perfect examples of what Mac Dre is capable off. Also "Gunz and Roses," and "Welcome 2 Da Bay" showcase Dre really well as well. And he sounded tight on "Macaframa" on Mac Malls new CD as well...

So basically, what Im wondering, is if you feel the same way? That MD is better on other people's cds? And if you do feel this way, why is it that Dre would be doing this when he has a solo career? He's been in the game for years, does he not have the credibility to work with better producers and create good solo material without other people?

Yea Dre wasnt that tight last year his thizzle washington cd was garbage, but he came sick wit the songs he did wit Luni and Yuk. Anyone kno if hes part of the REGIME Yuk's group? I think if he was part of their group he would at a better place then hes at now. peace. hopefully DRE comes hard this year.

I agree that Mac Dre sounds better on other peoples CD and your right it's mainly due to the beats he's flowing over. Thizzle Washington had some good songs but the production was consistent throughout the whole CD. I'd like to see him get with Femi who produced Mall and Rays CD. He needs a top notch producer like that...

i'm feeling u mad dogg mac dre is going down hill fast especially because of those weakass beats. on thizelle there was like 3 good songs and one was probably because yukmouth came sick. but people need to realize and stop jockin some of these rappers that fell off especially mac dre and dre dog(nickatina) compare their old shit to their new shit it's amazing. it's not like i don't like those guys but back in the days they were some of my favorite rappers.

Yea, I feel you!!

But at this point Dre can do pretty much what he wants... Shit, not too many rap cats make it that far these days. Dre could problay put out a blank CD and muthafuckas would buy it.

Yea dem newer Dre cds could be a helluva lot better...I found a few good tracks here and there...but his old material you could slump from start to finish...I find that Dre does come tight on other peoples records...why the fuck is dat?...if he put the kind of effort he does on other pplz projects...his albums would be pro pimp shit!...mebbbe its jus me, but I'm not feeling the route he's going with his material musically....lyrically dre seems to always come saucy...

He's what I like to call a CAMEO KING. Like UGK and Method Man. They got some tight songs on their solos, but their whole albums aren't that great. On other people's shit though, they seem to make those particular songs that much better. For example, the cut on LuniColeone.com, "Can't Fucc Wit Us", Mac Dre snaps.

the only thing wrong wit tha MD is his production and mostly his mastering...but if you put that behind you and really listen to what he's sayin he still spits it. hardest verse wit da best delivery off that thizz wash. cd was 'im like ted turner, i pack a lead burner, spit it to get it cant quit it im a bread earner' oh boy!
