News is supposed to be objective and there really is no objective media in this country. To ignore the news and media completely isn't necessary, but one should always question the media and try to read between the lines. Not everyone is aware of the propaganda and slants the media of this country have, but they should be. Everyone should always question everything to come out of the media and try to find the slants that the media puts on the stories. It's the people who don't question the media and believe it to be completely objective who are brainwashed. And sadly, a lot of this country's citizens fall under that category. Since the media is portrayed as completely objective, this causes some people to believe everything they hear in the news. If people were aware of the agendas behind the media and the slants they put on their stories, things would run a lot differently in this country.

I'm not talking about websites or blogx's or whatever. I'm talking about TV and Newspapers. They should be completely objective, or they should state that they aren't objective and give their slant (Liberal/Conservative/etc). But, creating the illusion of being objective while still slanting the news is wrong and a way of brainwash. I say that TV and Newspapers are different than the Internet because more people have insecurities about the Internet and it's contents than the content of the News and TV. Journalists are taught to be objective and should be. It is part of their profession.
