He probably doesnt know who he is... and thats a scripeted commerical he is saying... so whoever the production guy is he writes them up.... VON is the voice so he just says whats on the paper.... Just another example of the stupidity clear channel has done & will cont too do... I would do the same thing when i was @ 94.9 all the djs do.... Michael Martin // Jazzy Jim huh

I too heard this ad the other day and thought he said Cougnut. But the second time I heard it I heard him actually say "Cool Nut". The 106 KMEL website has the following listed:

BUT WE’RE ONLY GETTING STARTED, CUZ WE GOT THE OFFICIAL KMEL LADIES NIGHT AFTERPARTY ON SATURDAY! THAT’S RIGHT SWING THROUGH ON BROADWAY AFTER THE LADIES NIGHT CONCERT, CUZ YOU KNOW AFTER THE SHOW IT’S THE AFTERPARTY! FOR MORE INFO CALL 510-663-8189. ON BROADWAY IS LOCATED AT 334 BROADWAY IN JACK LONDON SQUARE.

it was Cool Nut..geez.. and back when Cougnut passed (r.i.p.), it was so sudden the only thing clean we had by I.M.P. at that moment was Shinin Star. I dont think he said it was BY Cougnut, i think he said it ws FOR him.. we aint stupid..we know better than that... I been listenin to IMP since that old maxi-single with the funyk drawin on the cover.

to be honest..when i heard that commercial..i almost tripped too...
wish that Cougnt was alive and performin still.

Right on Scottie, thats good to hear. I think its just still such a touchy issue for a lot of people, Im still furious that Murder Dog did a quarter page article about Cougnut's passing way in the back of an issue that devoted 9 pages to NEW ZEALAND RAP lol. The man was an inspiration to almost every SF ( and many Bay rappers ) and after he passed, it was almost as if everyone forgot who he was period.
