no offense to anybody on here that does celebrate it but to my knowledge, kwanza is basically a made up holiday that has no real reasoning behind it....

on the same topic, mormanism was made up by some crackhead named joe smith who somehow got people to follow him...its based on nothing

exactly which religioun is it that you dont think is man-made? i mean i dont disagree with you that kwanza was made up recently (earliy '60s i think) or that joeseph smith was a lunatic. but the same can be said about every religion. their all by definition supernatural, just because the nutcases that invented them lived a little bit longer ago, doesnt give them any credibility in my book.

Dude that made up Kwanza(Ron Karenga) was also the same dude that made up US(United Slaves) back in the 60's and worked with the FBI against the Black Panthers (mostly in LA) and was involved with the assasination of two panther leaders(Alprentice "Bunchy" Carter & John Huggins) in LA.

Actually the principals of Kwanza makes more sense than Christmas. It's all made up but since niccas are the biggest consumers you tell me which 1 we embrace? Macys get richer and we stay poorer.

so what IS kwanza all about??? I don't think I know a single person that celebrates that shiet or knows what it's about.
here's a quick copynpaste:

Kwanzaa is a unique African American celebration with focus on the traditional African values of family, community responsibility, commerce, and self-improvement. Kwanzaa is neither political nor religious and despite some misconceptions, is not a substitute for Christmas. It is simply a time of reaffirming African-American people, their ancestors and culture. Kwanzaa, which means "first fruits of the harvest" in the African language Kiswahili, has gained tremendous acceptance.
