Hours: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and to midnight July 4. Closed three Mondays: June 12, 19 and 26.
Tickets: Adults, $11; seniors 62 or older, $6; children 6-12, $5; children under 5, free.
Military discounts: Discounted unlimited-entry tickets for active-duty military and their dependents and military retirees. Available at all military installations in San Diego County.
Fairground parking: Motor vehicles, $8; RVs, $10; preferred, $13.

DEL MAR – The San Diego County Fair opens Saturday minus the deep-fried Oreo cookies that were such a hit last year.
But the equally popular deep-fried Twinkies will be back, along with two new hot-from-the-fat treats: deep-fried olives and deep-fried avocados.
