I find it hard to call it anymore, because I've been told that I am clever. But I've also been told that I think like a woman, when I do not think I do that much at all. Then again, as a woman, I'll be more apt to defend my gender against the stigmas I see thrown at it. On another note, I get very impatient with my female friends for doing typically female things.
Intelligence can be rated in many different areas. Do men tend to be more logical? Yes, I believe so. My experience with people has given me this insight, no offense to my fellow females. The reason that I become defensive over one questioning my intelligence is because I have had to deal with it often. You think I'd get used to it. Women tend to be labeled as scatterbrained and impetuous with their decision making process, and they are stereotyped as being more emotional with the major life choices. I will not argue this, because I've seen it done. I've done it a few times myself. I don't want to be a hypocrite, but I end up being one. Working on that.
I consider myself to be clever, (with out wanting to sound *too* humble), but I know that my female mind and hormones will pull me toward irrational avenues now and then. I've said and done things because I was catching wild emotions. I recognized it, stifled it, and bottled it up. It's unnatural to do so, I suppose, but I do not like to see myself reacting that way.
In our society, men are seen as more logical because they're less likely to act on their emotions. This is seen as as a form of intelligence. Cold and calculated seems to equal smart. Me being frantic and making rash decisions that still work out to my benefit make me look lucky, not smart.
I was raised to cry when I am sad, and to "go with my heart". However, I try to see things from the logical perspective. Some may say I would have a near impossible time at that, since I am a female. But men have emotions too, and struggle with them when they make decisions. They're just trained to deal with them later, as women are trained to deal with them at the time they happen. I believe men and women have an equal degree of intelligence; It's the chemicals and the way they were raised that handle the rest. I typed too much, and am taking a break. Sorry for the long read.
