this is actually a serious question. i know we have a lot of white people on the siccness so maybe some of you may want to chime in.

do you guys ever feel bad or urged to do something to reverse the social order of this nation?

without getting really detailed i mean the way the law is slanted in the favor of whites, and how the prison system is disproportionately filled with people of color. also how whites are favored in corporate america and in all institutions.

answer however you want.

But it's mainly a class issue man. It's not like the average working white person made america the way it is and often times, white people (and asian, latino, etc.) are in the same boat as black people. Poor white people are in the same boat as poor black people. America essentially is an oligarchy, a country controlled by a select few who are filthy rich and it doesn't matter if you're white, latino, black, or whatever.

Bingo! This is imo a prevalent factor to the assassinations of JFK, MLK, Malcolm X, and RFK were all killed.
When MLK was fighting for integration, no problem, when he started pursuing social equality- BANG
Malcolm X- By any means necessary, no problem, after trip to Mecca and realization that people are people, but Class is greater underlying issue- BANG
JFK-the closer he moved towards social justice and brought up ideas of demilitarization-BANG
RFK-A man who grew to care about equality for all people, as he became a factor-BANG

This is an oversimplification, but you get the jist....

You can base the inequalities off of race but how much does that really play a factor in things anymore. There isnt anything telling one group of people you cant do this because of the color of your skin or your beliefs like it was during your grandfathers or even great grandfathers times. The only thing that holds people back are often times their own enviroments.

Someone out of your neighborhood is good at something instead of everybody backing them there are haters that talk shit or even start shit because they are jealous. it aint a white or black thing its a that mutha fucka got something going for them and you cant or couldnt get anything thing.

There isnt one race holding another down instead its like crabs in barrel you dont have to put the top on a barrel full of crabs. Why? You ask. Its simple as, as soon as one makes the break for freedom the crabs around the one on its way out pull him back down. Its unfortunate that it is the way it happens but if you cant see the truth well thenyou are truly blinded by whatever propaganda has been shared with you. I agree in the past awful things happened to say that a mans or even a womans worth was built on what color or where they came from but it is a new era and the unfortunate thing there are still people holding people back but most often the people in the same situation or social order are the ones that end up holding a person back.

To be brief and rather inarticulate . . .

I didn’t create it. Yes I am aware of it. Yes I’ve worked against it. Because I’m white – no. I don’t, generally, feel white guilt.

I think the class issue is, in my opinion, being overstated in this thread. Yes class is important. Yes I believe class to be the basis of inequality in this country. But race is extremely important. And race often got used as a cloak for class issues to the point I think racism was entrenched even further into America than classism. Since the thread was about race I don't think we should dodge it by bringing up class.

Most working class white people I’ve interacted with are pretty damn racist regardless of being in the same class and working/living among people of other races. Most will say some crazy racist shit and then say they aren’t racist in spite of it. Most will also try to separate their class position from other people of the same class along racial lines.

On a side note I think trying to tie the assassinations of MLK & Malcolm X to JFK & RFK is retarded.

Give me f**ing break,
what do whites have to do with how blacks act? its up to blacks to take care of blacks , stop blaming others for your actions, does white people make blacks act the way they do? no its other blacks to blame,

If anything is going to change its going to be for the worse for blacks for a long time to come, dont worry about how many blacks are in jail worry all the single mothers raising there kids with no class, respect, morals, shame,
and who the role models are for alot of blacks,

most whites dont care about what blacks feel or think based on race and why should they? if you act like a respectful person then most times you will we treated as such, that goes from white and blacks aswell, many older blacks dont respect the younger generation and should they, the blacks of the civil rights generation have got to be disapointed with whats going on now,
im to the point myself that i dont care what anyone else does, im about me and mine only,

call it what you want but its all bad for blacks at this point, everyone votes democrat, thats stupid to me, its the last thing blacks need now, im a republican and catch hell for it from family and friends alike, but i see how i see it, and it works for me

i read about 3 sentences out of this long post. ill read it later when i have more time. but did i ever say black in my initial post. i think i said people of color which encompasses more than blacks. but right on for showcasing how much you think in black and white terms.

What can anyone really do to suddenly change the way things are? Simple answer is nothing... The system, and the way people think has been changing for years, and will continue to change with time... We all know that racism exists, with each group of people, and is built into the fabric of governments and laws... As 2-0-Sixx stated though, it's more of a class issue, and in my opinion has helped bring all different races of people together... There's no reason to think in "black and white" terms anymore, when we all face the same issues at hand...
