imma say its not downloading. I mean they make more money off shows and product than cd's. Especially right now with the current economy, not everyone is jumpin out they seat to go and grab a legit album.

It's been proven that people who download a Cd (and actually really like it) and feel it's worth it will more than likely purchase it. I agree with the comments before me, the quality isn't there for most of the music out there. You can't have a whole album of garbage and one great song then expect people to want to pay for it.

If people love your shit the money will come-- you just gotta make it happen.

Your product has to be high quality shit though.
Dudes expecting to get paid and being all salty when their sound/swagger/lyrics/production/songwriting is AVERAGE at BEST...

SMH.

quality work=quality $

on the real, music sucks right now and until someone comes through and breaks the barrier of stupid ass music on a large scale it will continue to to suck.

Its not downloading its lack of promotion, energy in making the product and most of lack of quality in the music. muthafuckas rather floss with the budget then put it into making a great album

Look at Rap-A-Lot. Two years ago they had everybody in the South goin nuts for Trae and Z-Ro albums, along with upcoming releases from Yukmouth and Scarface and they didn't promote any of it like they should have. Instead of going multi-platinum many of their artists didn't even go wood. The only reason why I knew who Trae was was because I picked up one of his CDs while I was in Tennessee at a swap meet.

The truth of the matter is we are in the age of a whole new era of technology. The old business model is OVER. How many kids under the age of 18 even own a CD player thats not connected to their computer? Labels need to understand that it is:
1. Easier to get music for free
2. Quicker to get music for free
3. Digital music takes up no physical space
4. The internet more powerful then all the record stores in the world
