I read an article at: http://www.billboard.com/billboard/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1746667
that says Quiks latest sold more that 500.000 copies. I know some of you got acess to RIAA and can check stuff like this, could you please check this?

Cuz I know UTI only sold 43000 copies the first week out, debuting on 27 on the Billboard top 100, and the week after it was at 80 something, and now its already gold?

Under tha Influence" is represented by the cut "Trouble" featuring AMG. The album, which debuted at No. 27 on The Billboard 200 in June, has sold 509,000 copies in the U.S. to date according to Nielsen SoundScan, and was included on the preliminary "long list" for the second annual Shortlist Prize for Artistic Achievement in Music.

GOLD is far from a given.

DJ Quik's album has sold 137,659 units according to current SoundScan data. RIAA also has no record of GOLD certification for this project.

His last gold album was Rhythamilism in 1999. Balance & Options and Under The Influence both failed to get him to his original glory.

He's a great talent though.

I didn't think this went gold.. alot of my potnas that love Quik don't even have this. Although I didn't think this was his best album, it was still tight to me and I throw it up in the rotation every now and again...
I'm surprised it didn't do better than it's doing just strictly based on "Trouble" but he needed another tight follow up...

I doubt quik's albums need to sell as much to make money. he doesn't have to go out and pay a high profile producer to make a hit single for him. all his production is free. doesn't need to pay for much advertising either, everybody already knows him.

This album old as fuck anyways so it probaly is gold. album is 8 or 9 years old. imo his worst album was TRAUMA, I couldnt stand that album it had the worst mixing out of all his albums.

there was only five good songs on that UDI album. best songs was put it on me, one on one feat el debarge, everyday feat. james debarge.
