sorry but it is a form of hip hop/rap. i like seeing outher parts of the world showing love for this art form. and to say it anit the same is dumb there just speeking on there hardships and life just in there own slang. its deffinetly another level in hip hop wich will become more populor with time. we need this shit to move on enogh of the same ol. it's getting way to repetitive.
you could say the same about dancehall then. repetitive beat with an emcee on top. id say things like hip-hop, dancehall, and grime garage are different enough to be their own genres though...but thats my opinion.

theres no doubt todays grime garage has been heavily influenced by american hiphop, just like american hiphop had been heavily influenced by jamaican dancehall, but garage itself is orignially a form of dance music that started out at the paradise garage in manhattan, just like hiphop started out at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the south bronx. along the way garage develops its own style in the uk, and eventually gets heavily influenced by dancehall and hiphop, like with the incorporation of emcees...but the roots are different.

but i guess this arguement can go in circles forever though...in the end all music is music, or you can over-classify things into their own genre...in the end its all relative you feel me.
