DirecTV/Dish Network

I had DirecTV before but I dont remember a cpl details about it...

1. Do you need an ACTUAL phone line to get DirecTV/Dish Network?
* I dont gone none 'cause I just use my cell and wasnt gonna pay no $35 for a line so telemarketers/creditors will call me allday.

2. I still have the DirecTV dish (use 2b a cust) but I want the new customer deals... anyway around this? Right now, i'm thinkin fake name...

3. I know DirecTV got NFL Sunday Ticket but do Dish Network show games in Oakland (on some local bayarea station or somethin)? I'm in Texas by the way...

1)THEY TELL YOU THAT YOU NEED A PHONE LINE BUT ITS BULLSHIT IT WORKS THE SAME WITH OR WITHOUT THE LINE CONNECTED.THEY DO THAT SHIT SO THEY CAN ZAP PIRATE CARDS.2)AS LONG AS YOU AINT A CUST. NOW YOU SHOULD BE COOL. 3) AS LONG AS YOU AINT IN THE BAY AREA THEY'LL SHOW RAIDER GAMES

Yeah... I know you dont need a phone line. BUT do you need a phone line to start the service? Or the install guy activates the card there?

I dont think you need the phone line at all. I had Dish Network and Direct TV and not once did I connect a phone line. If your already a customer and want the new deals then you might have to commit to another year of service. I actually just got off the phone with Direct TV and they got some crazy deals goin on right now. Fuck comcast!

The phone line is for ordering PPV's. When you order a movie the receiver has to report back, it dials out through the phone line to complete the purchase.

When they zap the cards, they send a signal down through the satellite the deactivates the unit id's of any receivers that they dont have on file in thier database.

I USED TO WORK AT DIRECTV THEY CAN JUST CALL WITHOUT THE LINE HOOKED UP I USED TO DO IT ALL THE TIME

Keep in mind this is Direct TV last year of there contract with the NFL for sunday ticket. Dont be suprised if Dish Network outbids them next year!!
