The one with the PINK font color is the 1st Pressing of the OG's, the BLACK is the second pressing/run. This album was never re-released though. You're probably wondering what I mean by "This album was never re-released though". Most artists have an initial run and the initial run is the first batch out of the gate. Sometimes artists will make changes to their artwork, lyrics beat and so on after the initial run, because they've either gotten feedback on their product or they simply decided on their own to make certain changes. I'm sure that Totally Insane, caught hell from the hood/homies about their name being written in PINK, but I wasn't there. I just know how we clown our homies when the chance presents itself and PINK definitely is a reason for the treason. The initial/first run was the PINK font color batch and the BLACK font color was the second run. So if you had to be Technical about it, then the first run/1st pressing PINK font color is the OG. I have both copies. Both are made by Rainbow and both have the same pressing codes, but the difference is that I've own my PINK version since day one back in the day and I remember when the BLACK font version surfaced on shelves out of the blue. That's when I grabbed the BLACK version. The artwork on the disk is the same, but the look of the glass master disc is different between the two. Even the font of the Rainbow and Pressing Code is different. They haven't been recently re-released or anything like that. There just a whole lot of them left and floating around still.

Would you suppose that this is exactly what happened with the S.I.C. - Long LAsting album? I had a arguement over this with somebody once.....LOL.
I can't call that situation for certain, but I'm sure that it is...because there are songs and other versions of the same songs that don't make it on the initial cut and somehow the artist decide to take it off or change it to the other version all of the time. Snoop Doggy Dogg's - Doggystyle album is a great example of this. The OG/1st run Had 2 problems on it. The first was the song, "G'z Up Hoez Down". That song was put on the first run by accident and Death Row Hurried up and took it off the shelves and replaced it, before those papers could get served/before the publishing company could do anything about it, because they/Death Row didn't have the sample clearances for that song. The second problem was the song titled, "Then "Next Episode". It was scrapped for whatever reason at the last minute and they forgot to take the title off of the tracklist before it went out for pressing. This type of stuff happens all of the time. The Coup had similar things happen on their Genocide & Juice and their Party Music album, but they stopped the real cover for Party Music from reaching the stores. Right after 911 Happened they pulled the front insert from the packaging right in time/right before it went to pressing and that's why every Trade Center Cover of this album is a Promo Copy. If your copy isn't a promo copy, then somebody just swapped the cover from a promo copy and put it on the official release. Basically yes, these versions are OG, because they are in fact the original issue/1st run, but the 2nd run isn't technically a re-press. Technically a re-press is a pressing after it has totally went out of print. Man, I can go into The Clicks album, E-40's Mail Man album, C-Bo's Gas Chamber album and so on. I just don't want to.

^^^Bad Information^^^

Yeah that thread has a lot of Bad info on it. I say this because you have 2 cat's who apparently don't know jack, nor do they have all 3 versions before the westcoastmafia releases. I'll have to put a run down together for you. Let me say this though. The Black Cover with the Black Insert is the "One and ONLY" OG/Original version.

Black Cover

The Black Cover Is the OG...Period. Awol Records didn't have an exclusive distribution contract with SMG (Solar Music Group). A lot of people don't realize that SMG was a label, but they were more specifically functioning as a distribution company then/at the time of the Black cover release. They were just a distribution company to Awol Records. Another thing is that this album says/has a copyright date of 1994, even though it really came out a whole year earlier. It came out in late winter/early spring of 1993. SMG is notoriously known for putting out albums from 1 to 2 years before the copyright date that is printed on their CD's. A Good example of this is "The Click - Down And Dirty" Album. That album came out in Late summer/Fall of 1992, but it says 1994 on it too. Honestly, I don't think that SMG had their distribution license yet/at that time... or they were doing some tax evasion type of stuff. I really don't know why they do this but there is a reason for back dating their early catalog. I just don't know why. Most of you guys wouldn't know about their backdating copyright dates unless you were listening to these album when they truly first came out. Most of you guy's parents wouldn't have dared to allow you to listen to Gangster Rap back then and most of you guy's were babies or didn't live in the US/was even up on Gangster rap. Remember that I said most, NOT all of you. I had C-Bo since it first dropped. The Click - Down and Dirty, B-Legit - Tha Savage, D-Shot - Shot Calla and etc. all came out way before their copyright date that is printed on their albums. Don't believe the copyright dates on any of SMG's early catalog nor their late catalog, because they started printing years in the 2000's in their later catalog, even though they came out in the '90's. I don't know what's up with SMG and why they do that type of shit, but they do. Now back to C-Bo. C-Bo and Awol Records had a non-exclusive contract for distribution through SMG. Once they finished their first run of the Black Cover with SMG, they started looking at other distributors. The first only distribution company that they they hooked up with was "Coast 2 Coast" Distribution. When they started to distribute through "Coast 2 Coast", they decided to revamp their artwork. This is when the album turned to the Orange Cover and the Tray card with C-Bo and James T Smith Jacking somebody on it. If you also have this 2nd/Coast 2 Coast Distributed release you'll see that they say, "Special Thank to St. Charles At SMG & To everybody else who gave support. Much Love", which is basically saying that they/Awol Records still respected SMG even though they're no longer their distribution company. Apparently the Coast 2 Coast Distribution didn't for whatever reason, so the eventually went back to SMG. If you have both Coast 2 Coast and SMG's Orange C-Bo albums you'll see that SMG made a few changes to the back insert/Tray Card and the inside of the Front Insert as well. Basically when Awol Finished their first run with SMG, they decided to give their album a fresh new look and they just ran with it when they got back with SMG. Also The SMG Orange version is Blurry vs. the clear brand new look on the Coast 2 Coast Orange version. Coast 2 Coast Orange version is so clean that you can see the pixels in the print and the picture is brighter, not dark like the SMG Orange version.

OG = Black Cover
1st Re-Release = Orange "Coast 2 Coast"
2nd Re-Release = Orange "SMG"

Also, when you're deal with any of SMG's catalog, please remember that they have and always will fuck up the copyright dates. Most of their albums have come out years before the copyright date that is printed on them.

I can post pictures of these later if you would like.
