I think I agree -just to clarify blunt_hogg, does that concept mean that the destiny is already pre-written or that it varies depending on which choices you make?

I don't believe in the concept of 'what will be will be', my mother always says stuff like 'oh well, you didn't get that job - it obviously just wasn't meant to be' as though the fact that I didn't get the job was already pre-written in my destiny. Life is what you make it - you can do almost anything you set your mind to if you want it bad enough.

the concept I presented has both elements that you described...."God" sets your destiny, so to speak, and it is upon your choices and decisions and character traits and personality that determine whether or not you will fulfill this destiny that God has out there for you....

you have needs, present situation, process, and probabilities. Destiny evokes these factors of life.

Your needs = free will
present situation = determines end results
process = inevitable actions
probabilities = no go or go

let's look at a car crash....

the driver NEEDs to get to point A to point B (destiny)
the PRESENT SITUATION is an accident between A and B
The PROCESS of passing the accident defines action
The PROBABILITY getting to A to B quickly is....NO WAY.

Defining Destiny is you being a loser not going after your destiny.

i dont believe in destiny as far as a laid out path set for you , but i do believe that in a way we do have some set ways about our lives, ie. no matter how much cash you got things girls etc etc some folks never happy, i think the way you are mentally emotionally, is pretty much set for good, the type of person you are in the food chain of society because even if you got some dude who went from nothing to some hotshot exec, dude could stil have a gang of head drama and even in his position, dude could still be looked down on by some ppl due to his personality, actions, etc etc.
